La Tablée Alpe d'Huez — Restaurant in Grenoble

We ordered drinks to sit outside ( 2 drinks each so not an inconsiderable order) and asked for some water too. We were told by the waitress ( around 11am on Monday March 24th) that we couldn’t have water unless we were eating. Another member of staff took pity on us and let us have some. We paid for our drinks with 2x 20 euro notes and she told my husband she would bring us the change to us outside. It started to snow so 15 minutes later we came in and as we hadn’t received our change we asked for “ la monnaie” ( in French). The same waitress feigned ignorance of what we were asking; it took a lot of explaining for us to finally receive it and not with good grace. The restaurant was virtually empty with lots of empty tables. We’d inadvertently sat on a table for 4 and the waitress straight away angrily told us to move to a table of two even though there was no one waiting and the restaurant empty. She was cross and bad tempered and when I said I would move in a minute or two she shouted “ maintenant” ( now). We are guests and clientele who would have returned to have several lunches there but we are appalled by the rude and dreadful way we were treated. We will never return to la Tabule now. Reprise par un nouveau propriétaire, la cuisine est différente. Accueil écoutent personnel très sympathique. Les plats a la carte sont excellents, que ce soit le boeuf ou le carré de porc, la truite. Une très bonne cuisine même au dessert. Pourquoi 4 étoiles? Deux petits points perfectibles. La fondue, qui a fait une separation liquide et boule épaisse en dessous. Pas la plus top et deceptionnsurbce point pour Nos enfants habitudes a ce met etant haut savoyard. Et quand des plats servis aussi bon ont l odeur de fondue et raclette en fond, cela contredit en peu avec cette cuisine excellente. En résumé, bonne cuisine pour les plats sortant de l ordinaire, un début tres prometteur et hâte de découvrir d'autres plats. Les critiques etant juste d un avis personnel.
