Le Zinc — Restaurant in Grenoble

I found Zinc through the Raisin Application. Indeed they have a vast majority of vin naturel sold as a bottle. Unfortunately, when you ask for a glass of wine they will give you NOT natural wine.

I found the food options limited and mediocre, but the ambience is nice. However, I found it difficult to sit at the bar alone as it is full of bottles, things and accessories. So unless you come with a friend you do stand out sitting alone at a table surrounded by couples and friends asking for that empty chair...

It's an ok place, but yesterday I my French friend saw a bottle saying they are looking for waiters/waitresses. I asked the girls if I can apply and my friend requested if one needs to be a sommelier to work here. I shared my CV asking if a person with A2 French and very good English could work here and they were open, "let's try".

In came the manager without a smile, obviously hiding his lips with his palm, saying something to the girls. as I turned my back I saw him making grimaces of a def person speaking and mocking.

My French friend asked if I understood what happened... I put my head down... honestly you don't need to know French to feel mocked. The manager's attitude was rude and even if I like the place and the young French girls working and have some french , would I want to work there as a 45+ non-speaking French woman? ...

Une expérience excellente. Ma fille m'a emmenée dans ce bistrot que je connaissais pas. Ça frôle la PERFECTION. Les vins, on donne à goûter avant de choisir, sont très bons, les assiettes délicieuses, généreuses, faites maison. La tranche de terrine, superbe et grandiose, le thon en tatamis, sauce maison, les rillettes de sardines au pain grillé... Tout est fait maison. Et ils savent y faire. C'EST UN DÉLICE. L'atmosphère est douce, la décoration de bois et de lumières chaudes et ambrées est adéquate au lieu. Le Zinc, un endroit magique, il y a plein de gens assis autour de tables rondes, c'est logique, une fois installés, ils n'ont aucune envie de repartir. Comme nous. Une seule envie: Y RETOURNER.
