Smithy's Tavern — Restaurant in Grenoble

Unacceptable price "mistakes" at the bar. Beware: check the amount you are being invoiced.

We went there with a group of friends last night. At some point, we noticed that for the same orders of drinks, we were invoiced different amounts. It happened at least 3 times. The worst case was when the bar tender entered 68€ in the card terminal instead of 38€. Seriously guys? When confronted to this, the response of the staff was "oh yeah it happens": 3 times, to the same group, in one night? Please, just... don't.

At this stage, either the staff is totally incompetent (we doubt it) or they take advantage of the good mood of the party makers to rip us off. A shame for a place which is an institution of...

Two bouncers beat up 2 students, separately, without provocation. They can not be allowed to work at this venue where their job is to care for the safety of the customers. Such violence must never be shown towards customers, especially when they didn’t do anything wrong. They made us feel unsafe and we had to leave straight after. I hope everyone else is ok. This is criminal behaviour from any staff member at Smithy’s, let alone bouncers. If nothing happens then everyone at Smithy’s should be held responsible and I hope that the two guys press charges against Smithy’s and Wasteland Travel who was the company running the event, who also...

We ate in the upstairs restaurant. The restaurant host was very accomodating with our last minute table of 8, with 4 kids. The menu was well written and priced, comparatively to surroundings restaurants. We had beef and chicken fajitas, a burrito, and goats cheese salad bowl. All the food was excellent, hot, and the portion sizes were very large. This is a must visit restaurant. I minor note on the kids menu, it said comes with veg, however 3 cucumber sticks doesn't really count. Carrots and peppers perhaps. However this is just our opinion. 100% must visit. Going back again...
