Blue Note Bar — Restaurant in La Rochelle

Strange place. Late evening, post-dinner visit (2130?). No barman. Duty receptionist handling everything? Completely empty but very well furnished. We were expecting “blue-note” cool, jazzy late-night vibes but instead got trashy pop music, mood killer. Asked about the music, got shrugged shoulders. Advertised as a wine bar but they only serve two reds (produced by the owner). I plumped for the more expensive one which to me tasted like the bottle has been open too long (which considering the bar was empty seems plausible ). I asked about the wine and was told it had ‘only’ been open “for about 2 days”. Hmmm. The cheaper wine tasted better. Shame. Lovely bar, annoying music, no...
