Bistrot Canaille — Restaurant in Le Havre

Haha I would not comment if not for the rude and full of lies reply to my friend's review. In short, dear readers, the staff are self-entitled, arrogant amateurs. Chef is probably good, that's why people still go there. We made the reservation at 19:00, and we were there 5 minutes before to park and unload the kids. We kept them busy with colouring books and nobody (staff or customer) even said anything about their behaviour. After one hour of waiting, they didn't even bring one salad. The other dishes were burgers and fries. So we talked about leaving and asked where the food is, especially since everyone around us was eating. Then you told us to wait 10 more minutes, and after 10 minutes we got up to leave and you showed up with the burger. Upon seeing this, the arrogant server guy with piercings and tattoos started shouting at us, we paid for what we consumed and just left. We would have appreciated if you said "hey, this order will take more than 1h, is that ok?" or "hey, your kids are making a mess/noise, etc, please stop or leave". But no, that evening a bunch of amateurs did their jobs badly, then chose to be a big mouth when faced with the consequences, then lied in the reply to my friend. To the owners: find better staff! To the staff: choose another career! To potential customers: food probably nice but prepare...

I had a very bad experience with the service at this bistro for dinner. We were the first customers at 7pm, two families with small children. We ordered in 5-10minutes and had 2 small appetizers served. After 1h10min we were still waiting for our main courses. I have to mention that all other clients were almost done with their food and we were still waiting. The restaurant was not even full, maybe half tables were occupied. We had to leave at 8:20 pm hungry and upset that we were treated with so much disrespect. We were the only non-french tourists in the restaurant (however we talked french to the staff) Probably the staff was bothered by the fact that we also had kids. Even though we mentioned this when making the reservation.. Unfortunately I cannot provide a rating for the food, as we didn't get to taste anything but the appetizer. After such a terrible service I cannot recommed this place.. The staff was incredible rude and treated us like it was something normal to wait this long for food.. In all the other restaurants we tried in Normandy, we were done eating with both appetizer and main course in less than an hour...

Déçue et un peu du vol Nous y sommes allés un soir. J'avais une carte remise sur certains menus. Je le précise plusieurs fois. Au téléphone, a l'arrivée a la prise de commande. On me dit Vous avez le droit à la carte aussi. Surprise je répond vous êtes sûre? On me confirme que oui. La prise de commande à été compliquée Service long Donc nous choisissons. Sur 4 plats 3 erreurs. Le camembert était tiède, j'avais demandé frites on m'a servi pomme de terre grenaille. Les frites que l'on ma ramener étaient molles. Sur un autre plat idem. Problème également aussi au dessert. Aucun bon appétit lors du service. Personnel jeune et pas très expérimentés. Problème également au niveau de l'addition. J'aurai du payer moitié moins,mais vu l'entourloupe lors de la prise de commande.... malgres un échange et explication pour l'encaissement ,la serveuse s'etant trompé lors de la prise de commande est à mal conseillé. Mais j'ai du régler la totalité pour certains plats facturés "carte" alors que certains étaient des menus. Avec toutes ces erreurs un geste commercial auraient pu être proposé . Seule réponse des soupirs et vous saurez pour la prochaine fois. Je suis très déçue j'avais eu de bon échos vu le prix des menus je m'attendais à mieux. Pour un mardi soir sans foule .
