La Sardaigne — Restaurant in Le Havre

It was a mediocre experience and I’m surprised with the average score for this place. They may be great for the “locals”, since is clear for me that they don’t like tourists. All smiles they’ve hidden from me and my husband they’ve spent lots and lots with their regular customers. As a customer experience specialist, I cannot accept this kind of approach and arrogance in a place where they simply cannot prepare a decent pizza. It was my first time at Normandy and the night before this experience we were simply delighted with the great experience at Bagatelli, at the same neighborhood. So, I think it is not a cultural characteristic, but a lack of customer care skills of the restaurant’s attendants. I do not recommend this place and do believe they have a huge homework to do before being considered a good place for customers who foresee nice experiences. Btw, the 3 score is for the wine, which was nice, since we are in France, where most of wines...

Having spent 16 months working out of Le Havre 3.5 years ago finding this gem of a restaurant was a real coup, Food of the highest quality mixed with a really good house wine and a great atmosphere. Recently returned on a one off visit to find nothing had changed so was delighted. Thanks to the owner Matt and his staff for making our stay in Le Havre that much more enjoyable. I hope one day I can enjoy the pleasure of your company...

Aan de buitenkant ziet het er een beetje gewoontjes uit. Maar eenmaal binnen word je goed ontvangen. Ik ben een vlaming, maar door mijn vlaams accent dachten ze dat ik een engelsman was. En daarom deden zij hun best om zich verstaanbaar te maken in een taal die ik ook niet perfect spreek;-). Alleen daarvoor geef ik dit restaurant een "thumbs up"! Want het is niet zo gebruikelijk dat je in frankrijk in een andere taal te woord gestaan wordt. "The Lady off the house is een frêle dame die met zoveel energie door het restaurant beweegt, dat zelfs bij een electriciteitspanne heel de zaak nog verlicht zou zijn. Maar nu het eten. Ik ben geen pizzafan, maar mijn partner wel. Ik heb daardoor de gelegenheid gehad om ook de pizza´s te beoordelen, want ik mocht meeproeven. Ik moet bekennen dat mijn aversie voor pizza´s enorm verminderd is. Dit waren waarschijnlijk de beste pizza´s die ik ooit heb geproefd. Zelf koos ik de eerste avond voor de rundertartaar. Die was niet echt klassiek maar verrassend lekker. De sardijnse invloeden maakten dit gerecht TOP! Echt voor herhaling vatbaar. Een dag later bestelde ik de osdobucco. Ook dit gerecht was meer dan ok. Hoewel minder verrassend. Als digestief kan ik de Limonccelo aanraden. Mijn algemeen oordeel is...was er maar zo´n restaurant...
