CÔME — Restaurant in Le Havre

After looking for the best places to eat in Le Havre, we came to learn about Come. According to the reviews, they have amazing food and service. Perhaps they were written from the perspective of Caucasian people, because as a black woman, my experience was absolutely terrible in this restaurant. I arrived with my sister and it took them 20 minutes just to give us the menu. In those 20 minutes, other people showed up and they had menu and drinks way quicker than we did. Once we finally were handed over the menu, it took over an hour to get our food. Again, we saw people who arrived way later than we did, and they got their appetizers and starters much quicker than we did. When we asked the waiter the reason for the delay, he simply stated that “there are only two people in the kitchen, and if you want things faster, I will accompany you to the kitchen for you to do it yourself”. And he said that in the most aggressive tone. Sister and I couldn’t even enjoy the food and we paid and left without any desert, even tough we were planning to have some. Even when leaving, he said farewell in a very angry and bitter tone. I will not be visiting this restaurant again, due to the poor treatment they have given me and my sister. L'expérience s'annonçait prometteuse : évocation d'ambiance chaude et de plats méditerranéens, avis positifs et presse unanime .... Pourtant le début commençait par un premier bug; nous avions réservé mais le restaurant ne nous avait pas attribué de table. Finalement après avoir refusé les petites tables rondes minuscules nous avons pris place près de la porte sur une table carrée, convenable; La déco est soignée mais sans plus , dans un espace réduit et en forme de couloir. . La carte est courte, les plats sont mal explicités et reflète plutôt un mélange de produits normands et quelques touches italiennes . L'apéro fut servi rapidement et la commande également . Trop rapidement en fait puisqu'à peine avions nous trinqué que l'entrée arrivait ; Les saint Jacques étaient correctes mais sans rapport avec le tarif, le plat de coquillettes à la truffe fraiche s'est révélée plutôt fade avec quelques bouts de truffe secs et peu gouteux, le café gourmand fut le pire : une panacotta basique et une salade de fruits ni annoncée ni souhaitée.Apparemment l'unique plat de viande de la carte était bon mais peu copieux . Le plus décevant ,ce n'est pas tant les plats servis que les prix totalement injustifiés et le sentiment que l'on veut vous servir vite ,sans écoute du client ni recherche du travail bien fait. On ne peut s'empêcher de penser que le profit est la motivation première de ce nouveau lieu qui du coup perd tout son charme et vous laisse sur le sentiment d'une...

We loved our visit to Côme in Le Havre on Valentine’s Day 2025. The steaks were cooked to perfection, the affogatos were the ideal sweet finish, and the mojitos were beautifully made. Both the chefs and front of house staff were fun and welcoming, adding to the whole experience. A perfect restaurant to enjoy while on a stop during our MSC Preziosa cruise — and we’ll 100% be back, whether it’s a drive or a cruise from England....
