La Courtine — Restaurant in Le Havre

Read the reviews and was greatly disappointed. 08.2023: The food was really disappointing. I saw pictures of fish soup with fish pieces in review. I got a plate of something looking like a jelly cooked from fish leftovers. 🤢 The duck was not in a wine sause, but in a sause made from Maggie bullion.

When you have been to the the really nice places in Entretat (which cost the same money!) and then happen to come here - you’ll be greatly disappointed. Good reviews sound like scam, to be honest.

I feel sorry for the staff, which is friendly though. We didn’t pay for what we couldn’t eat. But the last bit one evening of vacations was spoiled.

Also: very hot inside. We waited pretty long. Made no sense to search for...

We came here for lunch and don’t regret it one bit ! Food was fresh and tasty (the short menu is always a tell-tale sign), with nice daily specials made with regional delicacies like cider, heavy cream and seafood. The servers were knowledgeable about the food, accommodating of special requests and really friendly. We ordered the mussels and chicken with cream and mushrooms, which had lots of different mushrooms to offer. It tasted exceptional. Everything was absolutely divine. The restaurant was very accomodating. There were 4 adults and 3 small kids in our party. We order 2 burgers, garlic moules, fish and chips and 2 kids chicken nuggets. The mussels were fantastic, the burgers were ginormous and the fish and chips lovely. Prices were reasonable for a near to beach restaurant. A lot of people have complained / wrote bad reviews about this restaurant- we did not have any of the issues they did (too loud, long queues, too hot etc) - it was a really nice experience.
