CAVAVIN - Vernon — Restaurant in Les Andelys

Worst customer service ever! Buyer beware if you ship wine to the US. I was on a river cruise that docked in Vernon and bought 8 bottles of wine to ship home. The clerk told us that they could only ship 4 bottles per container due to the "special packaging" they used to protect the wine. I received the first BOX a few weeks later. It was nothing more than a cardboard box with brown mesh wrapping around the bottles. No fragile signs on the box either. The next week I received a notification from the US PS indicating the second BOX was damaged beyond salvage. I emailed Cavavin three times with no response (I included pictures of my receipt and the postal notification). I then tried to call and was hung up on when I asked if the person to whom I was speaking spoke English. I then reached out to the tour company. They spoke with someone from Cavavin who said I should have shipped back the broken bottles. Seriously????? I never even saw the broken bottles. Why have a contact link on your website if you're not willing to respond to your customers (I even translated one of my emails to French in case that was the issue)....

Really good in depth selection of wines from around France with a few from other places too. Wines nicely displayed in their regions and the wines we’ve picked from there have all been good value...
