The large number of positive ratings and the impressive photographs of the interior ambiance were the reason we chose Beerstro, but we were thourougly let down by the unprofessional behaviour of the staff. We ordered our drinks and a plate of fries, but were surprised to only recieve the drinks. We assumed the fries were on their way but fifteen mins later, the drinks were half way done but the fries were nowhere to be seen. One of us had to go upto the bar counter and enquire about the fries because after we were served we never saw a waiter again. On asking about the fries, the response i recieved was a very casual one telling me they are on their way. Fifteen mins after me walking up to the bar counter, the fries still had not arrived. By now it was half an hour since we had placed our order, and by any standards this was way too long to make a plate of fries, especially considering the restaurant was practically empty. We’d neared our wits end and decided to leave and what surprised us the most that not only were the staff who served us least bothered that we were leaving without what we had ordered, but had the audacity to comment behind our backs in french that “This ain’t no Mcdonalds”. In short I wouldn’t suggest the place to anybody, because I’ve been to quite a few bars, and even the busiest ones don’t take half an hour to serve a plate of fries, let alone badmouth a customer in...
Read moreAn interesting concept hampered by only one staff member speaking English and being very busy. They have a number of self serve beer taps and you receive a smart card to use when you choose and pour your own beer. But first we had to go looking for a waiter to both order our dinner and to find out how the beer system works. Apparently we had to order initial drinks first and then, if you want, you could use the self pour system. I opted for the Filet Mignon Maroiles for dinner and a Homelbier to start with. Both were easy to eat without standing out. The highlight of the evening was discovering that they had my favourite Weiss Bier on tap - a Triple Karmeliet from Belgium - and I certainly...
Read moreLoved this place and the uniqueness of how you obtain glasses of beer. Wasn't too sure about the lack of prices anywhere so we anticipated a hefty bill when we finally came to leave, but it turned out to be an absolute bargain for what was such a great evening! Such a vibrant, but somehow still chilled, Friday night atmosphere. Loved the food choices as well. We shared the steak tartare which was absolutely delicious. My only gripe is the fact that there only seemed to be one ladies toilet - for such a large busy place, it needs at least two or three, especially considering the queue had to form right by the food serving hatch. Nevertheless, this place is not to be missed if you're at all...
