Café Oz Lille - The Australian Bar — Restaurant in Lille

I recently visited this bar and unfortunately had a terrible experience. While retrieving my jacket, which had fallen behind the bar, I was met with hostility and aggression from one of the female staff members. Despite my attempts to calmly explain that the jacket was mine, she refused to listen and continued to yell at me. (I knew what my jacket looks like, but I forgot the name of the brand .she didn’t even attempt to understand/reason with me) The whole ordeal took up an hour of my time, leaving me feeling frustrated and disappointed. However, I do want to give credit to the security guard who was very understanding and helpful throughout the situation. As an Australian I don't usually seek out "Australian" bars in Europe but wanted to watch the rugby. Unfortunately this place seems either like a gimmick or severely ignorant. Firstly, if you are going to display The art of Australian first nations people credit them! There are too many cases of people reproducing such art without payment or recognition of the artists. Secondly why would you have a mural of the queen with the text "god save the queen" in the next room? You don't get to have it both ways. You can't display art of Aboriginal or Torres strait Islander people and then the head of their oppressor in the next room, a monarchy that commited genocide against them. Ce bar est horrible mes cheris, ne venez pas, mauvaise expérience, j'adore pas. Tout les autres bars à Lille sont beaucoup mieux que celui-là. See you never.
