Disclaimer: I'm not Indian, and I'm not from Lille either. But I do love good food and have been to various places and let me tell you : this place deserves a better rating.
Don't be afraid by the dark look of the street, when you enter this place a charming Indian waiter ( or boss ? ) Full of hospitality comes right away, and luckily we got seated without reservations. ( But we were the only one without one so don't forget to book in advance! )
The place is cozy, not that much table which makes for a calm atmosphere.
The menu is simple and clear, we went for chicken tikka masala and lamb korma, which were served on hot plates to keep them warm throughout the whole meal and homemade naan bread. I thank my ancestors and humankind for creating such delicious meals and being able to savour them from Lille.
For people scared of the spiciness of the food, you must order your spices if you want any, for our dishes we didn't have any trouble enjoying them.
Finally finishing in up with a great cup of tea then left with the waiter holding the door and waving goodbye the same way a parent would to a child when they leave the house after a good meal to go back home.
I'm left with nothing but pure satisfaction.
Thank you for your hospitality and for your...
Read moreI have passed by this restaurant several times and I always wanted to try it out because it looked nice from the outside. When we entered the restaurant I directly felt that the waiter didn't really care we were here. He was very slow and seemed that serving us was a burden for him or at least he didn't look motivated. The restaurant is quite dark, the tableware was a bit broken on some sides and looked cheap. My tea was served after we have asked for it two or...

The choice of dishes here is modest but portions are generous and the food is fairly rich. Serving style and spicing is a bit different to UK and I asked for spicy which turned out to mean extra chilli powder scattered over the top. Garlic naan was so subtle I had to stick my nose in it to smell the garlic. Chicken saag and daal dishes were both tasty. Didn't get to desert. A decent range of drinks including Kingfisher and Taj...
