I would like to start by saying it was the worst kind of customer service I’ve experienced in my entire life.
I visited “la luck” in Brussels and I was used to their nonchalant and a bit slow service, but what I experienced in “La luck” Lille was the worst customer service I’ve seen in my life.
We had reserved online, we arrived 5 minutes late, at 12.35. We were greeted at the entrance, we were given a table number, and we were supposed to go upstairs and ask again where is our table. There was no to actually point us to the table and explain where we can find the menu ( it will be relevant later). We’ve waited 35 minutes for someone to approach us and it was the rudest waiter in history. We were told, in a very rude way that we checked a wrong menu ( I typed menu la luck Lille in Google) and we were supposed to check the menu with the QR code. Then the waiter proceeded to tell me they were out of every single thing I wanted to order, and lunch menu wasn’t available for another 2 hours. I said I’ll wait until lunch time, while my partner will order. I was told I have an attitude, even tho I didn’t say anything offensive and it was the waiter that had horrible attitude towards me. We left because I wasn’t going to pay and to be disrespected. We planned to stay in that location for at least 4-5 hours before catching a train to Brussels, but it wasn’t possible with the horrible customer service they provide. They lack in professionalism, except for the person that showed us one game while we waited to be insulted by the waiter.
I think they are overpriced, overhyped and badly organized. Their attitude is that they will do whatever and customers will come anyway.
I don’t recommend it at all, avoid at any cost. Find another board game cafe, play at home, but don’t fall...

We had brunch here, and our server explained a game to us and showed us how to play in French, going back and forth to English if we seemed confused and repeating in French. He was so patient and nice! Even though we are beginners in our French lessons and barely able to communicate, we were able to play the game, learn French while doing so, and we had a great time. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff is the best we have met in Lille so far. Read moreIncompetent Staff. Me and my husband came here to have breakfast on a Sunday. We were greeted by one of the waiters and we took a seat. Nobody came to us to give us menus or anything for like ten minutes and when someone finally came it was to ask us if we had a reservation which we didn’t. She left without saying a thing and a few minutes later another girl came back saying they couldn’t take our other for 20 minutes because we didn’t have a reservation. She pretty much gave us the option of leaving or having our breakfast until 40 minutes later so we obviously left.
