I never thought I would write a review like this, but what I experienced in this restaurant was traumatic, unacceptable, and deeply alarming. This is not about poor service or a disappointing dinner. This is about a physical and psychological assault that occurred in a public space, in full view of everyone. During a dinner at this restaurant, I experienced a serious case of harassment that should never happen in any civilized place.

I went to the bathroom and found a man inside clearly drunk, and likely a regular customer. For a moment, I thought I had entered the wrong door, but I checked, and it was indeed the women’s restroom. It was a shared unisex bathroom, so I waited outside until he left.

As soon as it was free, I entered. But he followed me in immediately and forced his way inside to molest me with full intent. I fought back, I screamed, and he even had the arrogance to gesture with his hand for me to "be quiet" a disgusting and intimidating act that I will never forget.

My shock was immense. But even more shocking was the silence, indifference, and total lack of reaction from the staff and everyone present.

Everyone saw what happened and no one did anything. The guests continued eating and drinking as if nothing had occurred. The restaurant staff waiters and managers completely ignored the situation. No one came to help me. No one asked what had happened. No one removed the aggressor. On the contrary, he continued drinking at the bar, chatting with the waiter as if nothing had happened.

In 25 years of traveling the world including countries where one might expect less protection I have never experienced anything so dangerous, offensive, and traumatizing.

Ironically, it was here in France – a country that claims to be evolved and civilized – where I lived the worst experience of my life as a woman.

Violence against women is a global plague, but what makes it even more unbearable is the silent complicity of those who watch and do nothing.

In other countries, like the UK, police, citizens, and restaurant staff react immediately and protect the victim. Here, instead, the normalization of violence is shocking.

⚠️ This place is dangerous. Not only because of the serious act itself, but because it is a den of silence, complicity, and indifference. Those who work here, those who eat here, those who watch and say nothing – are part of the problem.

❗This is an urgent call:

No more silence. No more acceptance that a woman can be harassed, touched, or attacked in a restaurant, in the street, or anywhere else.

If this happens in public, just imagine what happens in silence, in private, when no one sees and no one speaks.

💥 Reporting is not enough: we must act, we must educate, we must isolate both the perpetrators and those who cover for them.

I wish this place the worst kind of failure – not commercial, but moral and social.

Anyone who does not protect a woman in danger does not deserve to exist in a world that calls itself civilized.

Quand la violence et le harcèlement envers les femmes se produisent devant tout le monde et que personne n’intervient, cela signifie que tout le monde est complice.

Ce restaurant est devenu, pour moi, le symbole de tout ce qui ne doit plus jamais arriver.

Je n’aurais jamais pensé écrire une critique pareille, mais ce que j’ai vécu dans ce restaurant a été traumatisant, inacceptable et profondément alarmant. Il ne s’agit pas d’un simple mauvais service ou d’un dîner décevant. Il s’agit d’une agression physique et psychologique, survenue dans un lieu public, sous les yeux de tous.

Lors d’un dîner dans ce restaurant, j’ai été victime d’un grave cas de harcèlement un acte qui ne devrait jamais se produire dans un lieu civilisé.

Je suis allée aux toilettes et j’y ai trouvé un homme visiblement ivre, probablement un client habituel. Un instant, j’ai cru m’être trompée de porte, mais j’ai vérifié : c’était bien les toilettes pour femmes. Il s’agissait en réalité de toilettes mixtes, j’ai donc attendu dehors qu’il sorte.

Dès qu’il est sorti, je suis entrée. Mais il m’a immédiatement suivie et a forcé l’entrée pour me molester intentionnellement. J’ai hurlé, je me suis défendue, et il a même eu l’arrogance de me faire un geste de la main pour me dire de "me taire" un acte abject et intimidant que je n’oublierai jamais.

Le choc a été immense. Mais encore plus choquants ont été le silence, l’indifférence et l’absence totale de réaction de la part du personnel et des clients présents.

Tout le monde a vu ce qui s’est passé et personne n’a bougé. Les clients ont continué à manger et à boire comme si de rien n’était. Le personnel du restaurant serveurs et responsables a totalement ignoré la situation. Personne n’est venu m’aider. Personne ne m’a posé de question. Personne n’a évacué l’agresseur. Au contraire, il est resté au bar, à boire et à discuter tranquillement avec le serveur comme si de rien n’était.

Ironie du sort, c’est ici, en France, un pays qui se prétend évolué et civilisé, que j’ai vécu la pire expérience de ma vie de femme.

La violence envers les femmes est un fléau mondial, mais ce qui la rend encore plus insupportable, c’est la complicité silencieuse de ceux qui regardent sans rien faire.

Dans d’autres pays, comme le Royaume-Uni, la police, les citoyens, le personnel des restaurants interviennent immédiatement pour protéger la victime. Ici, en revanche, la normalisation de la violence est effrayante.

⚠️ Cet endroit est dangereux. Pas seulement à cause de l’acte grave lui-même, mais parce qu’il représente un repère de silence, de complicité et d’indifférence. Ceux qui y travaillent, ceux qui y mangent, ceux qui regardent sans agir – font partie du problème.

❗Ceci est un appel urgent :

Plus jamais de silence. Plus jamais d’acceptation qu’une femme puisse être harcelée, touchée ou agressée dans un restaurant, dans la rue, ou ailleurs.

Si cela se produit en public, imaginez ce qui se passe dans le silence, en privé, quand personne ne voit, et personne ne parle.

💥 Signaler ne suffit pas : il faut agir, il faut éduquer, il faut isoler les agresseurs mais aussi ceux qui les couvrent.

Je ne souhaite pas à ce lieu un échec commercial, mais un échec moral et social.

Quiconque ne protège pas une femme en danger ne mérite pas d’exister dans un monde qui se dit civilisé.

We were wanting to eat beef since we are in the beef area of Limousin. We were recommended this local restaurant by the hotel receptionist and she made a booking for a Friday night. A Potence de Bouef Cognac flambé is for 2 people and this was just what we wanted. The beef was flambéd at the table with the juices dripping on potatoes, mushrooms and enough garlic to scare away people from sitting next to us on the train the next day! The waiter recommended a reasonably price bottle of Bordeaux red wine and it matched well with the beef. We also discovered that you can have French Toast for dessert. Instead of using a day old baguette, you use Brioche (much softer and sweeter) and top it with ice cream and a caramel sauce. Yummy.
