Limoges has an impressive cathedral but since we had just visited Bourges it doesn’t compare. It is grand enough and the highlight of visiting Limoges. La cathédrale Saint-Étienne de style gothiques est la principale église de Limoges et sa construction qui a commencé en 1273, sur les ruines d'une ancienne église . Son clocher d'une hauteur de 64 mètres a perdu sa flèche d’origine puis a été rattaché à la nef en 1888. La cathédrale est ornée de nombreuses sculptures dont une centaine de gargouilles dont j'ai pris quelques exemplaires. Elle abrite également un orgue de 76 jeux, construit en 1902.
