This trip was delayed by more than a year due to Covid so we had prepaid for our room but they required us to accept a credit instead of returning our money when they were closed. As it turned out we were able to use the credit and also get breakfast and a couple of glasses of wine for the same amount of money because the prices were lower than the year before. The staff were welcoming and the hotel was perfectly clean. We were asked at check in if we wanted housekeeping and for us this was perfect as we were only here for 3 nights and did not need it. The breakfast buffet was set up with personal serving tongs. The cheese platter only had one knife and was under a glass dome so we did not try but the selection looked good. We love the coffee machines with quite a few selections and it is freshly ground. The AC was perfect and we slept very well. The rooms are soundproofed all around except you can hear when the doors slam as someone enters or leaves their rooms. The door closers could be a little softer. The WIFI was not always able to stay connected from our room 330. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area as it is very convenient to the main train station and most...
Read moreNight stopover on way back to UK from South coast of France. As it was Covid I checked 4 days prior to arrival that evening meal would be served. On arrival this was not the case. A deposit of 100 EUR was taken off my card in an addition to full advance payment for room. I was also requested to pay in advance drink from bar. The young receptionist's English was poor she just explained this company policy. This was inconvenient as I was leaving France the following day had no need for Euros . Also the amount converted back to GBP would be less than paid due to exchange charges. I can't understand why a hotel would treat so called members with such suspicion as if it is an unattended Airbnb. It's 4 days since leaving and refund has still not been credited to my card. Warning for family with young children, the large windows in this high-rise building open widely without restriction it was shocking how unsecure it is. Given that meals are eaten in room not so much of a napkin tissue box was...
Read moreI have to say overall this is a very good hotel which i have stayed at many times. I requested a calm room & was initially offered room 310. As soon as we walked in the smell of fried food was terrible also the fan for the air con did not switch off which meant we had to change rooms first to the 5th floor & was then told sorry can't use that it will be the 4th floor. This hotel seems to lack staff to cope with such events. We had a meal next door which is no longer La Boucherie & as such has less choice. I ordered a glass of wine which was adequate but the refill was half the size. My reaction to this was met by a rude waitress. Breakfast is not worth the money if you are looking for any hot food. Gone are the lovely scrambled eggs & bacon for a dried omelet & frankfurter. Not the best...
