Monday lunchtime- we had eaten dinner here a few months back and had been really impressed. Lunch this time left us feeling a little disappointed. While the food was very pleasant, the portion sizes were small , and the lovely bread was needed to make us feel sated. Service was disappointingly slow and indifferent. After a wait of ten minutes for any attention at our table, we were finally able to order food and drinks. Unusually, an aperitif was not offered. The maitre d’ on two occasions poured wine while looking over his shoulder and talking to a colleague, with the result that wine went onto the table. We also felt ignored while two other tables near us were given prompt and attentive service. In the end, we decided not to order desserts as we felt that the restaurant did not deserve any more custom. Looking at reviews online, other reviewers seem split into either ‘delighted’ or ‘disappointed’; perhaps it depends on which day you book for, and the mood of the staff on that day. Sadly, having been pleased on our first visit, today we left with a feeling of disappointment. Consistency of standards seems to be an area the restaurant management...

Wij komen reeds 23 jaar naar dit restaurant en steeds tevreden. zowel bij de eerste en de tweede eigenaar. Wij gingen dus terug in de zekerheid dat het terug in orde zou zijn. Wij wisten echter niet dat het terug overgenomen was. Wat een ontgoocheling en totaal ondermaats. Ons verhaal : we bestelden een campari spritz en kregen een aperol spritz wat wij eigenlijk niet lusten. De ober die ons bediende is zeer ontactvol. De kledij van het personeel past totaal niet in het kader en zeker niet in de prijsklasse van de gerechten. Wij bestelden een voorgerecht (16 euro) en hoofdgerecht (25 euro) en zouden wachten met het bestellen van het dessert waarop de ontactvolle en lompe ober antwoordde dat als we later zouden bestellen de patissier misschien al weg zou zijn. Hij oefende op die manier ongepaste druk uit om toch te bestellen wat we uiteraard niet deden natuurlijk. Het restaurant bedient van 12u tot 14u30. Wij waren er om 12u30. Dus de bestelling van het dessert na voor-en hoofdgerecht was perfect mogelijk. De gerechten worden in geuren en kleuren beschreven en de verwachting is groot. Wat een teleurstelling...veel te kleine porties. Ik bestelde als voorgerecht een foie gras met gepickelde paddestoelen en pommes de terres pressés .Ik kreeg 3 stukjes foie gras 2cmX1cm die ik moest zoeken op mijn bord , een halve halfgekookte aardappel in repen gesneden en 3 paddestoelen. Als hoofdgerecht had ik een filet van Dorade in olijfolie. Ik kreeg een stukje van 8cm X 3cm. Dus 1/3 van een filet met een mini ratatouille van groenten en een gebakken blokje (rijst ?) en dat voor 25 euro. Wij moesten ons zelfde bestek gebruiken van het voorgerecht want volgens de ober was er waterschaarste (weer een leugen). Wij hadden ook de wijnkaart gevraagd maar ze zijn nooit gekomen om de bestelling van de wijn op te nemen. Het bleef voor ons bij water. Wij hebben natuurlijk geen dessert meer besteld. Alvorens af te rekenen krijg je altijd een ticket met de prijs en de bestelling erop. Hier alweer niet. Je gaat naar de receptie en de ontactvolle ober waarvan wij denken dat het eigenlijk de eigenaar is rekent uit op zijn computer, tikt het bedrag op de terminal en de betaling kan gebeuren. Wij vroegen dan of we geen ticket kregen waar alles op stond en tegen zijn goesting maakt hij een factuur op zijn computer en slaat die met volle hand op zijn bureau. Wij zijn nog nooit in ons leven zo behandeld en ontgoocheld geweest. Zeker niet in het klasse restaurant dat ze beweren te zijn. Ik zou iedereen afraden om er te gaan want je hebt veel betere en goedkopere restaurants in Limoux die klasse maaltijden geven met een veel vriendelijkere , klasvolle en beleefde bediening. Deze mensen gaan een zaak die al jaren goede faam heeft opgebouwd in een oogwenk naar beneden halen. Spijtig ! De foto's op de website zijn nog van de vorige eigenaar. De werkelijkheid is...

Exquisite food, super-creatively presented, with remarkably sophisticated mix of tastes, textures, colors and platings. Very kind and solicitous service, with the right mix of kind and helpful with not being ingratiating and overly present. I attended with a couple of elderly friends and they were sensitively helped to enjoy the facilities properly. We’re only here at our second home part of the year but will add this restaurant as a must do. It’s a interior patio dining area so be prepared for a cooler venue in off season.
