We stayed in Amboise for 4 nights and came across this wine shop on our first day. We liked it so much that we went back every single day. Sebastien was exceptional. He knows a lot about wines and about the Loire valley and puts a lot of effort in promoting the diversity of the region, including young producers and natural and biodynamic wines. His explanations were approachable, and his passion and excitement for wines really shone through. It was also evident that he wants to make wine affordable for all types of budgets, and he was happy to choose things based on particular price ranges. We did a tasting, we got wine by the glass, and we bought some bottles to pair with food that we cooked at home. All the recommendations were perfect and made our visit very special. Wine shop with very thoughtful selections, showcasing local products, and offering delicious small plates. The four of us stopped in, and Sébastien carefully listened to our palate preferences. We trusted him to take us on a wine journey of local producers and he illuminated us on the harvesting methods and vinification techniques, emphasizing bio and natural philosophy. We drank a bottle of white and red. Each selection was a great match for our palate preferences. We also had delicious small plates consisting of rillettes, pate, and cheese. Also included in the sampling was a special treat of an ox-heart heritage "heirloom" tomato with incredible intense flavors. Overall, a beautiful way to spend an afternoon. The sommelier, Sebastian, is excellent and spent a lot of time with us. We wanted a wine flight and charcuterie, sort of California style wine tasting, which does not generally seem to be the practice in this area. He understood and fixed us up with both a white and red flight with cheese and pâté. He taught us a lot about the area wines and helped us begin to appreciate the difference between French and California wines! Exactly what we were looking for! ...
