Absolutely SHOCKING service today.

Females dining ALONE, AVOID.

NEVER again, the manager appeared from nowhere at the end, forced me to pay & leave before eating my dessert.

Said he would not accept tips from me & threatened to call the Police. Seriously, I went in just to eat lunch on a weekday.

The WAITER was awful & very pedantic.

I asked for a double espresso with a dash of cold milk & got TOLD in front of the whole restaurant that was a "noisette Madame" & my reply was, no, it's a double espresso with a dash of milk, OK then, a double "noisette"! What he eventually served was a quadruple espresso with an entire jug of HOT milk on the side.

I handed 20€ in cash to the kitchen staff before leaving, the menu is amazing & the food exceptional.

THE waitress was efficient, understated & knew her restaurant, even with her eyes closed. Exactly as global dining should be

Thank-you to the kitchen & waitress.

I will never return to...

We stumbled across this fabulous restaurant while staying overnight in Amboise and are so happy we did! We were warmly greeted and served a basket of the most delicious bread which we happily devoured. My husband is a meat eater, so he very quickly decided on a burger which he said was fresh and delicious. As a vegetarian, it can sometimes be difficult to find menu options that accommodate me, but an incredibly fresh and colourful salad was prepared for me filled with local goat cheese crostini, roasted vegetables, crispy shallots and a homemade dressing (I have since tried to recreate this salad since returning home, it was so good!). We saved room for dessert - crème brûlée - which was outstanding! The food, service, and ambience at this charming restaurant was so lovely. We wish we lived closer, as we would...

Went Tuesday night around 8:30. Google Map said they close at 9 but they closed at 10 and we stayed till almost 11. Service was friendly. The puff pastry appetizer with sweetbreads was nice -tad on the bland side but very flaky. Duck confit was a disappointment. The meat was moist and delicious but no crispy skin. The waiter brought condiments but I noticed nobody else had them. I was about to complain to the waiter that some American tourists are cultured and we know good food but one of our dinner party slathered ketchup all over his plate so I merely shut up and crawled under a rock. But then I realized the ketchup bottle was almost empty so we couldn't be the only uncultured barbarians they had dining there and also, they didn't make the duck skin crispy so...

This restaurant offers incredible value for money, with an average cost of only €30 per person for a truly authentic French dining experience. The confit duck leg was absolutely delicious—perfectly seasoned and flavorful, with the meat falling off the bone. The salmon tartare was generously portioned, with a perfect balance of sweet and tangy flavors that made it incredibly refreshing and appetizing. The butter escargot was packed with flavor and came with at least four large pieces of escargot on top of the bread—super satisfying! To top it all off, the Chinon red wine was a delight, with a smooth and mellow finish that paired perfectly with the meal. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic French food at a great price!
