POKE SUSHI — Restaurant in Loches

Great Food, People and Experience. Wide variety of sushi, ramen and brochettes (skewers). Reasonably priced and large quantity of food. We were in Amboise to see Loire Valley and wanted something casual that we could bring our 9-month old son to. We picked this place because it was highly reviewed. Unbeknownst to us prior to going, the restaurant had a high chair which we found to be rare in France. The owners / managers were incredibly friendly and our son loved that they kept smiling, waiving and playing peek-a-boo. My wife and I had several of the specialty rolls and they were all delicious (and fish tasted very fresh). We ordered chicken meatball brochettes for our son to gnaw on and he loved them. What a great spot! The staff are very friendly and both the sushi and poke are great. Anyone can talk about the fish, which is of good quality, but what they have down that is worth noting is that the rice is perfect. Both the sushi and poke rice have the perfect flavor and moistness. My only disappointment was the quality of the ginger and wasabi, which were obviously from a jar and a tube, however this is forgivable since this location is in smaller French village and I bet it is difficult to procure fresh...

Bonjour, Venant tout juste de m’installer à Amboise, ma compagne me propose, pour fêter la fin de mon aménagement dans son appartement, d’aller manger au restaurant de sushis du centre-ville.

En entrant dans le restaurant, beaucoup de monde—ce qui est normal pour un établissement qui fonctionne bien. Cependant, l’espace me semble trop petit pour accueillir autant de clients, compte tenu de la chaleur et du bruit dans la salle. Face à l'affluence à l’intérieur, nous avons dû choisir nos plats à emporter, préférant braver le froid extérieur pour commander plus tranquillement.

Après avoir fait notre choix, nous nous sommes adressés à la personne en charge des commandes. Il était alors 20h40, et on nous informe qu’il y a environ 30 minutes d’attente, ce qui semble tout à fait normal pour préparer nos plats.

Le temps d’attente s’écoule. Entre-temps, nous profitons de l’occasion pour faire un tour dans le joli centre-ville de cette belle ville d’Amboise. À notre retour, à l’heure convenue, notre commande n’était toujours pas prête. On nous demande alors d’attendre cinq minutes supplémentaires, qui se transforment rapidement en une demi-heure. Pour nous faire patienter, on nous propose seulement un verre d’eau, sans même un mot d’excuse ni un geste commercial qui aurait été apprécié.
