AFGHAN KITCHEN — Restaurant in Lyon

Foreign restaurants are supposed to offer the very taste of the country they represent and not just be a nostalgic place for the resident diaspora to eat out because they can't find any other alternative! The food we tried was basically okay with an average Kabuli pilaf and an unknown variant of lamb grill which was supposed to be lamb Kebab, nothing really delicious or admiring. I even doubt if the chef was Afghan, and tbh it was more of a Pakistani cuisine. Advice for the business owner: try your best for your own business prosperity or forget about running a catering business in Europe. People like to try foreign foods especially if they are known to be delicious like Afghan cuisine, but like this nobody will spread the word and return for another round! You need to bring serious changes in terms of the chef, raw material, kitchen practice and decoration. Building a brand image isn't a simple task but if it is done, you will benefit from it! We recently visited Afghan Kitchen on a holiday with high hopes, especially given the inviting decor and well-designed furniture, which created a comfortable and stylish ambiance. Unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill.

The meal started well, with both the Bolani and chicken soups proving to be delicious—well-seasoned and comforting. However, things took a turn when the main course arrived. We ordered the kebab, but it was a major letdown. The meat was undercooked, tough, and served in a small portion with only four pieces, making it hard to enjoy.

On top of the food issues, the service was disappointing. Our waiter was not only rude but also seemed uninterested in making the experience pleasant, which added to our frustration.

Based on this visit, I can't recommend Afghan Kitchen and won’t be returning. With better service and attention to their main dishes, they might have potential, but for now, it...

The food is yummy and The quality of the food is perfect . And i loved the restaurant so much. But i dropped two stars because they really really took alooooooooooong time to serve the food 🥲

And also The quantities of the food are a little bet not enough for the group orders Not the individual orders. Especially if we compare it to the prices. I hope this will be better later🌷 So i dont recommended (the 79€ 4 persons)

But the staff are very friendly and kind although our kids were noisy at the restaurant they did not complain . They weren't rude at all.
