Baba La Grenouille — Restaurant in Lyon

Baba La Grenouille at Les Halles de Lyon stopped seating at 12:57pm yesterday by a rude waiter, so disappointed! We came at open time 12pm sharp today! The waitress was more polite!We came here for their famous Frog Legs! There were two big pans of raw young frog legs and small calamari which both look really fresh. The cook coated the frog with flour then put into the big pan with melted butter, continued to add seasoning and herbs, pan fried then toasted! Fun to watch! Time to eat! Our €24 signature Frog Legs served with Scallops Potato! Yummy, it’s buttery and garlicky! The seasoning and coating was just right! The frog meat was tendered but rather bland. Scallop Potato was excellent, so smooth and creamy! We tried their Escargot too. We had a lovely experience visiting Les Halles de Lyon, especially eating at Baba La Grenouille. Never having tried grenouille (frog legs) before, this was a surprisingly delicious dish. Tender and very flavoursome. The chef and staff were very friendly and accommodating. They were due to close for lunch but they welcomed us and cooked the Grenoullie on the spot for us. We also had the chicken which was just as delicious. Would recommend trying this...

Very very rude waiter Poor service, had to ask for water glasses as only one glass given per person when we ordered a bottle of wine and also a bottle of water. It appeared they did not want customers to enjoy the experience. Cattle fish was nice, although the sauce was bland and the accompanying paella only luke warm. The paella looked good but once again a Lille bland and not hot. Overall a very disappointing experience. There appear to be better...
