We went to this bar to grab a drink one after noon. Fortunately most of the tables outside were free, so we approached a table to take a seat. A waiter quickly told us, " No you can't come in that way, you have to go back out and enter over there." Just to be clear, there are no markings, railings or otherwise and we were already at a table. Nevertheless we went back out and walked around the outside to where he had indicated. He and his colleagues then ignored us for about 3 minutes, until we asked him, "So can we take a seat?" To which he responded, "I can only fit you over there." - the tables near the windows, not in the ventilated section. It wasn't ideal but we took it anyway. It took about 10 minutes for anyone to come to take our order. Whilst we waited we watched swathes of french people enter the seating area from many different directions (not the designated area) and just sit down and the staff jump to serve them without issue. Yes, you could say that maybe the tables were reserved, but how would they know which table was theirs without co suiting the team and why wasn't it an issue for others to enter the area as rhey pleased? To be honest this was consistent with our treatment at a lot of places. My Partner passes as French, Spanish or Italian and was often greeted warmly until otherwise identified, but me as a pale red head, stand out like a sore thumb as a foreigner and was generally treated poorly by...
Read moreHorrible and traumatizing experience! We were two friends joining a table of 8 people already seated. They first wouldn’t let us in and they asked that we call our friends seated to ensure we weren’t bluffing. Once inside and after saying hi to my friends, I wanted to go to the restroom before ordering. The owner stopped me by saying only those who ordered can use the restroom, which was fine and understandable during the crowded Lyon music festival. I returned to the table only to hear him complaining to my friends in an aggressive way that what I did was unreasonable and that I was scrounger. I turned around to explain that I was planning on ordering right after my restroom break. He started talking to me violently and shouting that all customers in the terrace were wondering what was happening. I felt attacked and assaulted for absolutely no reason. Wouldn’t recommend the place if you want to be treated...
Read moreApparently a recurrent occurence when going there with foreigners. I'm french but was with my husband who doesn't speak French. A Monday night, was still quite busy. The waitresses were not super nice, ended up cleaning our table so quick that she threw some of the table rubbish on me. Never told us that the drink menu was available through the QR code so took us by surprise when she came to ask us for our choice of drinks. Definitely chose to take other people's orders before us. Don't go for whiskey as really overpriced. Beer was fine but I did order a half pint and got served and paid for a pint and didn't realise until later. Not so bad but if service would be nicer, it would have been a much...
