La Bouteillerie — Restaurant in Lyon

We had a great time at La Bouteillerie. We came in early for a quick glass of wine and even though the place was fully booked, Christoph made room for us. In the end, we stayed until closing time. Christoph led us through excellent wines (mostly) from near Lyon based on what flavors we liked and sat down with us to explain where the wines were coming from and how this and the grapes influenced the flavor. The food was also really nice and accompanied the wines well. Christoph even gave us several recommendations for restaurants and bars in our further holiday destinations. Absolutely highly recommend this place! Christophe, the owner took us on a wine journey we will never forget! An experienced sommelier, we didnt ask for menus and let him decide which wines to try after telling him our preferences. Every wine we tasted was exceptional. And the cheeseboard to match was extraordinary! This was the best experience in Lyon… and trust me, we had a blast in this big town. I got to taste some amazing wines and awesome food, the Monsieur who runs this place is a humorous, friendly and knowledgeable gentleman.
