Like in most restaurants in Croix Rousse or Lyon for that matter, as soon as they see you come in with children, you can see the horror in their faces. This one was not different … We were greeted by the waitress with unkind remarks as soon as we entered with a stroller & throughout the whole meal she could not hold back her comments about how uncomfortable she felt that we came to the restaurant with a four & a two year old. They should warn clients about their hostility towards children by writing in their door, STAY AWAY IF YOU ARE COMING WITH CHILDREN to warn you in advanced & spare you such a dreadful experience. The food was OK but such terrible, unprofessional service really leaves only but a very unpleasant flavor in the mouth. A small restaurant on the road just west of Tournus. On a Monday for lunch, about 6 tables occupied. Could have come without a reservation. Amuse-buche with quail eggs was thoughtful, a consomme of vegetables not salty. Plat of lamb/white bean gave beans with good consistency and taste. Mackerel and bass, well cooked, with crispy skin and moist flesh. Vinegar balls have a nice added vinegar touch to fish dishes with a pleasant aesthetic. Only dish that missed to some degree was a carrot dessert-ice cream presented nice carrot taste, but carrot strips were out of place. Another little gem in Lyon which is away from the hustle of the old town, located in lovely Croix-Rousse. We had the set menu lunch which was delicious! Cold pea soup with strawberry compote works beautifully and is also a treat for the eye. Lovely main course choice of fish or chicken (the most tender chicken ever) and then the dessert surprise….
