Basically we were taking the train from Paris to Marseille and missed our connection in Lyon, which meant we had a newly added 8 hour layover. Well to make the best of it we started making our way towards the churches and historic old part of Lyon. Needing some caffeine, we stopped for lunch after looking a bit off the beaten path. We were totally surprised at the gorgeous quality of food that was served to us. It definitely made the layover feel not so bad. The location was lovely and shaded and a short walk from the walking district and a 20ish minute walk back to the train station. The cheese plate, salad, burger, and pasta were so delicious! It was the only meal we ate in Lyon and left a fabulous impression on the flavors of the town. Definitely will be visiting there if we're ever back in that part of...

We wanted to move to the shade, but there were no chairs in the shade. I started moving my chair when the waitress told me not to move my chair. I moved to the shaded area without my chair. A man (maybe the owner?) came running to us. He was extremely agitated and annoyed that we were drinking our beer in the shade, which was still on the restaurant property and barely 2-3 metres from where we were sitting.
