L'escale — Restaurant in Marseille

I ordered a kebab sandwich with a drink and got them under 10€. It reminded me of döners I used to eat back in my university. The meat was juicy and tender with a good amount of veggies underneath. The spicy sauce has the texture of an aioli and the heat is a slow release. It was nice and not overpowering. The meal came with an order of fresh crispy fries.

The gentlemen worked efficiently and as a team. The cashier was extreme patient. The lady who ordered ahead of me for her family was rude and indecisive, but he took his time ensuring that she was happy.

This place has a constant stream of people coming in and out. There is seating inside and out. You can’t go wrong eating here at a place where the Police National also eats...

L’escale is truly a gem! The food is full of flavor, made with fresh vegetables and a delicious sauce. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming. Honestly, the prices are way too low for the quality of food you get here. Each dish even comes with a refreshing wet wipe, which is such a thoughtful detail. They also packed up the food we couldn’t finish to take away, free of charge, with no hassle at all. On top of that, the location is perfect—just a short walk from St. Charles station. Americans visiting France with limited French skills. We were hungry and looking for a place to eat after 8pm. Some places require reservations this place doesn’t!
