Very nice hostess. Limited English but good enough to go through the evening. We had a booking at 8pm and they were able to seat us at 730pm. Very nice of them to accommodate us.
We visited the night before to state we will have the bouillabaisse. It requires at least 24 hour advanced noticed.
We got there and I had a 3 course meal with the main as the fish of the day... seared tuna. That was very delicious.
The bouillabaisse was quite delicious though small... it had 3 small fillets and a bunch of potatoes and carrots. The server stated if we finished the soup, we could ask for seconds. It was quite flavourful. The second bit of soup had much less flavour... it seems the chef may have put in too much lemon. Needless to say we didn’t finish the dish. When we concluded and paid for the meal, I made the comment that the second helping of soup did not have as much flavour as the first. And she said that it was impossible since they came from the same pot... not the most respectful thing to see which was disappointing as the meal was quite enjoyable except for that second soup portion. We didn’t finish the rest of the bouillabaisse.
Very sad. The meal started strong but ended at a low.
7/26/18 Update based on restaurant's response: I appreciate the owner taking the time to respond to my google review. However, the reason why I thought there may have been lemon added as there was no longer any flavor when the soup was added. If it was from the same pot, then the flavor would have been the same. If it was the same, we would have certainly finished the second helping of soup. However, when we tried the remainder of the second helping of soup, it was no longer edible. We did not touch the remaining contents of the boullibaise. The dish became ruined. In regards to the four fish fillets stated by the restaurant... it was definitely not that many. And the fillets were small. I could have eaten each fillet in one bite full. Which is why the soup was focused upon... that way the dish would last longer. There was much disappointment towards a famous Marseille dish.
Hopefully, the restaurant will actually believe this feedback. We paid full price and provided honest...
Read moreVery nice place, rather fancy yet with relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Staff were very nice and when asked they explained in detail all the menu items. We had tuna tartare and fried mozzarella as starters. As main we took gnocchis with veal rolade and daily fish menu. The desserts - fondant chocolate and lemon Yuzu tart. Gnocchi with veal was absolutely amazing, tuna tartare coming right after. Everything else was excellent maybe with fired mozzarella being just ok as it was not served melting hot. The prices are very fair compared to the quality of food and the type of the place. Highly recommended if you’re looking to have a nice dinner with great food, very close to the old port...
Read moreThis popular French restaurant is located near the Vieux Port in Marseille. We selected the reasonably priced three course menu w/ a half bottle of Pouilly-Fume and started off with a very tasty rock fish that was wrapped in rice paper. The monkfish w/ endive & artichoke was quite good but my wife's succulent Iberian pork was superb as it was very tender on the inside yet crispy on the outside. For dessert we had the trilogy of chocolate ice cream with lemon and raspberry sorbets. The service was friendly and efficient as we enjoyed the excellent food, wine...
