Fuxia Marseille — Restaurant in Marseille

I will preface this review by saying that our main courses were good. We ordered deep fried mozzarella and calamari for starters. Specifically stating that we were in no hurry and wanted them one at a time and the waiter acknowledged that. They arrived together and we sent one back (the mozzarella) with our waiter’s agreement. The calamari was inedible and we refused it. The mozzarella arrived. It was obviously our original that had sat waiting in the kitchen for us. We sent that back and received a fresh hot (and tasty) mozzarella in return. Next arrived our mains (no calamari) which I have already commented on ( 3 cheese rigatoni and tagliatelle vongole). We had the Limoncello gourmand with an extra Limoncello for desert, nice, excellent desert and Limoncello. Our bill included the calamari, (disappointment) we refused to pay for it, they agreed and after we paid, we were offered a free Limoncello?? Good looking restaurant that doesn't meet the expectations. Everything was ok until the main dish, which basically ruined the whole experience and made us leave immediately after. I went with 3 friends and we ordered 4 dishes of seafood pasta and the taste was completely anonymous, faint and the salt was missing, this besides using good quality seafood. On top of that, the pasta dish I ordered used pappardelle instead of mafaldine, as it was written on the menu, so I suggest to correct the menu with the right kind of pasta. The expectations were really high, since we were charged almost 20 euros for each pasta dish (basically we ordered some of the most expensive items of the menu), but the outcome was really awful. A restaurant in the very touristic centre of the city, with plastic menu and international selection of foods. You can find good drinks and a quite wide selection of dishes, but don’t expect to satisfy the most sophisticated palates. The tables are very small and when we asked to join two tables to have more space for all dishes we ordered, they answered this was not possible (the restaurant was almost empty) since then everybody would have asked the same. Comprehensible, but less nice. This place would have deserved 3 stars but the great advantage you will appreciate is that this place is OPEN all day long, while the majority of the restaurants will close the doors on your face if their (very short) working time is over.
