I ordered sea bass with veggies. The vegetables with no spices at all, ‘al dente’, like a portion of supermarket bagged unfrozen and boiled veggies. The fish was fine. I was offered a shot of limoncello as a gesture of courtesy for inconvenience. Eventually, I was served half of 40 ml shot, and if you want to order limoncello, I can tell you it’s not worth it. Very sweet and artificial. My bill included two battles of water while I ordered one. It was corrected, however I think it’s worth mentioning its heavy price of 7€. The place is located at good spot but overall I wouldn’t recommend it neither for the service nor for food.
UPDATE (since I cannot reply directly to the restaurant’s answer):
Water Charge: My review explicitly referenced bottled water (not carafes). I was incorrectly charged for two bottles instead of one—a factual billing error that was only corrected when I pointed it out. Your claim that I "misexpressed myself" is dismissive and ignores the actual issue. I suggest reviewing the original English version of my review, as relying solely on a translation — The fact that you misrepresented this (whether due to poor translation or selective reading) is telling. For a restaurant in a central location, ensuring staff understand English feedback should be a basic standard. Vegetables: The issue was never about disliking vegetables but rather the lack of basic seasoning or culinary effort—even in steamed dishes. Suggesting that I "shouldn’t have ordered it" is unprofessional and deflects from the valid critique. If your "sea bass fillet" is meant to highlight vegetables with a side of fish, perhaps rename the dish accordingly. Seasoning steamed vegetables is not a luxury—it’s culinary common sense. Digestif: A half-poured shot undermines the gesture’s intent. If a courtesy is offered, either commit or don’t bother. Your dismissive and defensive response speaks volumes about how clients are treated at your restaurant and how little you value their feedback. Instead of perceiving criticism as an attack, I recommend using it as an opportunity for improvement. In any business, the clients feedback is valued, something you might consider before your...
Read moreThis was a decent meal but nothing spectacular. We were able to walk up and be seated within 10 minutes.
We shared the sea bass ceviche, my partner had the steak, I had the octopus, and our daughter had the kids meal. Everything tasted good, but nothing was super memorable.
Service started out great, with all the staff being very attentive, but it fell apart later in the evening as the dining area filled out. We asked for the desert menu and it never came after 20 minutes. We asked again, primarily since the kids meal came with desert, and it took another 20 minutes to come. When we asked for the bill, another 20 minutes went by, so we just walked up to the front to pay. I'm sure all of this would have went better if we spoke french.
It is nice that they have a kids menu, you don't see that too often in french...
Read moreWe recently stopped by Le Caribou for a quick dinner and were thoroughly impressed. Nestled in a charming plaza near the Old Port, the restaurant offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed meal.
Our selections included the pasta of the day, the Caribou burger, and the octopus. Each dish was well-prepared and flavorful, but the octopus truly stood out with its tender texture and delightful seasoning.
The service was both friendly and efficient. A particularly thoughtful gesture was the Kinder Surprise treats given to our children at the end of the meal, adding a special touch to our dining experience.
Overall, Le Caribou provided a memorable evening with delicious food and attentive service. We look forward to returning and highly recommend it to others seeking a delightful dining spot...
