Le Magnolia — Restaurant in Marseille

The Dustyfoot.nomad and a friend Recently visited Le Magnolia restaurant and clearly we enjoyed ourselves to the maximum. First, the location is well placed on a really huge terrace full of people from very varied places. It is easily accessible both on public transport and by walking from the old port. Second, the food was incredibly delicious, fresh, and very well presented. It's a bit of a mixture of both sweet and sour. The menu is well planned to include both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The starter that we chose was nems and also sweet potato fries, absolutely a delight. The dessert is simple yet very tasty. Third, the service was impeccable and quite friendly. Lastly, the pricing for both the food and drinks is pocket friendly and real value for the experience. Have enjoyed having a coffee in the square at magnolia during my stay- until the rudest waitress I’ve come across in Marseille told me I couldn’t have a coffee unless I was eating- despite the fact half the tables were empty and those that were occupied were also just having coffee. Was in the square for another 40 mins and the tables were still empty or occupied by people drinking only coffee.

Felt like I was being personally singled out as unwelcome by this incredibly rude waitress, and has left a sour taste in my mouth...

We just wandered by this place and decided to stop in for a beer and small lunch. The food was quite nice, many really good vegetarian options. The ambiance was terrific and the restaurant staff was incredibly friendly - even provided a great alternative to an item that...
