The food was good but not worth the wait.

To be fair, maybe it was because they only reopened after the lockdown. The waiters were really nice and the vibe was great. You're seated on the terrace, under the shade, with cute table settings. I ordered sauteed frog legs, grilled fish with plantains and grilled octopus with rice. First disappointment: it took 50 mins for our cocktails to arrive (only came after we asked for it again) and then we waited another 30 mins for our food. I liked our food but the octopus was a bit dry and the spicy african sauce was SPICY. I'm cambodian so I could handle it fine but I dont think the majority of clients there would be able to enjoy it.

Also, in the midst of a busy restaurant where the clients were starting to grow impatient, the waiters seemed a bit too chill. The owner, however, just stood there and watched. He could have helped with the cocktails or something. All in all, 1hr and 30 mins for grilled food, I don't think...

Okay but could be so much better. Location is very nice and vibe. However as for food I was not that impressed, it was nice but not nice enough for the price they were charging. Very overpriced in my opinion. Flavours are more like simple home cooking. Certainly not £25 a main. The jollof rice wasn’t that good and the squid neither. None of the vegetables were fully cooked. Lots of plain tomatoey flavours. The fish soup was nice but also expensive and small portion. The lamb was nice though but again expensive. Wait was quite long for food and then the restaurant had a mix up with our bill which took ages to sort out. Toilet was also very very dirty with pee all over seat and place. And tableware was broken and mismatched. It wasn’t presented well. If you are going for a authentic shanty vibe maybe that’s okay, but with the price they’re charging I would expect much much more from the...

Great location, food cooked to bring out the purest qualities of the ingredients and the staff as hospitable with the warmest smile on their face. Tried frog legs and crawfish there for the first time and it was absolutely amazing. Congolese cuisine is definitely underrated and I have faith that this place will put it back on the map. As a group of Mediterraneans from Cyprus that are very picky and spoilt with their seafood, this restaurant definitely satisfied our taste buds :)
