Restaurant Review - Marseille @hododa_marseille °. Was in Marseille last month for an Acroyoga event by @acroyogamarseille. Went to this friendly restaurant in Marseille with a Greek and an Israeli friends. °. I had the "Kasha", my friend had "Le bol Hododa" and the other was going to have the Chawarma dish, but it was victim of its success and the restaurant didn't have it anymore. So they took a Kasha as well. °. I had a very good local American Pale Ale called Maïre. °. My dish had a beautiful presentation and the best mushrooms I've ever had. They were gently fried and seasoned to perfection. We also had a hummus to share, and the Greek and Israeli friends REALLY knew about what a good hummus was. We could all agree that it was an excellent one. °. As a sweet tooth that I am, I had to go for a dessert, even though it was a sunny day and my friends wanted an ice cream outside. But I went for the custard pie with nuts and caramel topping. It was to d!e for! The best caramel I had to this day. Also, the pickled red onions were out of this world. My congratulations to the chef. °. Experience 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ °. #vegan #veganinFrance #plantbased #restaurantreview #vegansofig #travel #foodie #veganrestaurant #plantbasedcooking #entree #plat #dessert #caramel #hummus #veganbowl #Marseille

If you're an Indian vegetarian or follow a Jain diet and find yourself in Marseille, Hododa is the place you don’t want to miss. Tucked away in a charming corner of the city, this restaurant is a hidden gem that caters thoughtfully to vegetarian and Jain preferences — a rare find in France!
The food is flavorful and comforting, with clear attention to dietary restrictions. From hearty mains to soul-satisfying desserts and coffee, everything is worth trying. But a heads-up: Hododa is hugely popular with locals and tourists alike, and seating is limited. Walk-ins are tough, especially during peak hours, so we strongly recommend booking in advance (you can do this easily via Google Maps).
Also, plan to arrive on time — some dishes sell out quickly, so going late might mean missing out on a few favorites.
All in all, Hododa is a warm, welcoming spot that offers a slice of home for Indian travelers....

It was so obvious to us that the owner loves what she does and found her passion in being a host/chef! Such a sweetheart who knows what she does 💕
And the food was perfect, too: We had a delicious bowl with aubergine and cucumber salad, different really creamy sauces and grilled tofu skewers which were crispy on the outside and soft inside. My gluten free bread has been perfectly toasted! It was the perfect combination of fresh and filling food 🤤 The sizes are also quite big. The homemade almond-milk and coffee-shot in my Chaï Latte was a combination which I haven’t seen/drank in other places before.
Make sure to do a reservation ahead (preferably for a table inside if you want to sit in complete shadow with the heat around 1-2pm).
If we stayed longer we would have definitely be eating there again! (We only couldn’t due to forgetting that they're closed on mondays and tuesdays 🥲)
Next time in Marseille - first thing will be going to Hododa!...
