Coeur des Sables — Restaurant in Montpellier

I had brunch and the food was nice enough, nothing outstanding. We sat on the sand which is a nice beachfront.

The manager was the one attending us. She was incredibly rude and unpleasant the whole time. We quickly had the impression to bother her and felt an immense pressure to order fast. Initially she did not explain the whole choice, so we had to ask for more detail. Her answer on what the breakfast had was "croissant, croissant et croissant!" quite aggressively. She was so stern that she pretty much ruined the atmosphere by the beach. My friend asked to add some cream to her coffee, and the lady answered in exclamation "be aware that's extra!". We were not concerned about the price at all, yet she insisted in making a strong point on what had to be paid extra. And each time she would mention it she had this terrible attitude.

During the brunch, I found some hair under the hams. Picture joined to this review.

We requested napkins but were forgotten and shortly afte she came back to our table with the bill saying "I'll charge you now." Not only had we NOT requested the bill yet, she also did not bring the napkins. I told her so and with a swift apology she went for napkins which she then threw on the table.

Be aware, there are seagulls around the place that try to pick up some food from patron's tables. The manager fed them at some point which obviously attracts them more.

Came here in a larger group and sat on the terrace. All night, we had a homeless man RUNNING up to our table, even jumping over the terrace barriers scaring our group- he would get very close to us and at some points even touch us. This happened about 7 or 8 times until we decided to leave. Throughout, the staff watched this happen and would sometimes intervene asking him to leave very politely and other times not intervene at all. Then we even saw some staff giving him a cigarette and lighting it for him over the barrier! He was walking around barefoot with a cigarette on the restaurant terrace several times. For 20 minutes, the waiters didn't come to take our order specifically at our table (clients who came after us have already been served.) It may seem minor, but it was also disappointing: we were seated in a dirty corner where a huge puddle from previous customers hadn't been wiped near our table, the chairs at the table weren't facing each other, and we were given only one menu for two people. Perhaps it's normal to wait so long for a waiter, but I don't think it is OK. Maybe the treatment towards us was because we're foreigners. They could have been more polite, especially since we had reserved a table in advance. In any case, it's logical to leave if you're not...
