Restaurant Le Trident — Restaurant in Montpellier

It always pains me ,in fact it’s excruciating to pay a bill in a restaurant without leaving a tip for service However, a tip MUST be earned. It’s no use for waiting staff to breeze past me all evening ignoring my attempts to gain attention and then trying to turn the charm on later when serving dessert. The damage is done and it’s too late. We dined here twice. On both occasions we waited about 20 minutes after being seated to give a drinks order and even had to request bread as it didn’t arrive with or before our starters. Take heed , when a customer is trying to gain your attention just simply acknowledge them and say “I’ll be with you as soon as I can” Do not ignore and pretend you hadn’t noticed them. It’s just rude. Ignored we were , several times.

Food was quite tasty and mostly made with love. I must say the fish dishes were very good and perfectly cooked. Apart from the Moulles au sauce curry which turned out to be nothing more than overcooked moulles boiled with onions and water served in a dish with a sprig of garnish. Tasteless and very boring. Perhaps the ‘curry’ was lost in translation.. Incidentally, if a mussel remains closed after cooking , don’t serve it!! You did serve it. Shame on you Chef ! The desserts from the menu of the day were not available today and to be fair we were made aware of that before we ordered. We were told an alternative would be served. I wasn’t expecting tinned pineapple cubes and whipped...

What an awful and disappointing experience! The worst possible people and service that I’ve experienced! I am still shaking after waiting for one hour and 15 minutes!!! I am staying in a hotel and just wanted to grab a quick dinner… I had no resetvation, the restorant was EMPTY, literaly 0 guests, and after all that time they did not wanted to serve food because I don’t have a reservation…...

Avis Juillet 2021 Mon avis par rapport à celui de 2019 est totalement différent ! Le restaurant s'est réellement améliorer. Nous avons été bien accueilli. La salle était très accueillante et conviviale. Concernant le personnel rien à redire, il était souriant et à l'écoute. Au début nous étions sceptique du menu à 36€ mais par rapport aux plats servis nous comprenant pourquoi il est à ce prix. Nous n'avons rien à redire des plats qui étaient tous simplement incroyable, il n'y a pas une seule faute. Il y a un vrai rapport qualité/prix. Si vous êtes dans le coin je vous recommande d'aller à ce restaurant si vous souhaitez un restaurant du style gastronomique, vous ne serez point déçu !

Avis de 2019 - 3 étoiles Vaisselles laissent vraiment a désirer. Pas de verre pour boire de l'eau, on a été obligé de demander alors que c'est tout de même la base d'un restaurant. Concernant le plat, nous avions demandé une viande bien cuite, elle a été servie saignante. Malgré un retour en cuisine, le plat était très goutu.
