La Goulue — Restaurant in Nîmes

We made a booking a few days in advance however we arrived to find they didn't have our table reserved. The staff found space for us and put together a random assortment of tables in the corner of the restaurant, slightly inconvenient but ok.

Next, a member of our table couldn't eat anything from the menu due to their mental health issues with food, however a waitress said that they were required to eat in order to stay in the restaurant, with no attempt to make any accommodation for this person. This simply wasn't an option for us and made this person feel very uncomfortable to remain in the restaurant.

With the 6 other members on our table eating and drinking, one would think someone not eating would be an acceptable option however clearly this restaurant only values the monetary value they get from customers over the customers...

A delicious meal, efficient and responsive staff, a reasonable price, and a pleasing space. What more could you want?

Three of us dined here on a Monday night. The staff was patient with our poor French skills and spoke some English (not an expectation for me, but very helpful). The egg entrée was served unlike anything I've had before and the taste held up to the unique delivery. Very good main dish options, and all was delicious. On the other hand the bread is industrial quality bread and the cheese platter can be skipped: and this is why crappy gorgonzola and so so taleggio. French restaurant please provide french cheese !!! Also, the baba au rhum was just a small piece of dried commercial cake soaked in rhum. I'd strongly recommend updating these to deliver optimal customer experience. Service was slow but...
