Brasserie Saint-Georges — Restaurant in Nancy

We had a superb and decently priced lunch here while on a visit to Nancy. The restaurant is quite small and was pleasantly buzzing when we arrived. Service, by the charming Benjamin, was excellent. Both my starter, a spicy cassoulet of mussels with chorizo and my main, a perfectly cooked rabbit thigh, we're gorgeous while the wife's fillet of pollard was equally well received. A chocolate torte for Z and a tarte satin for me topped off the meal nicely, complimented by a eau du vie de mirabelle, generously provided on the house. The wine list is interesting and very good value. We washed our lunch down with a very drinkable bottle of Claird de Lène, a perky white from a region unknown to us, the Thongue, which would easily have been twice the €25 we paid in the UK. What a perfect place! I still can't believe how kind and helpful and pro the staff from Brasserie Saint Georges were with us yesterday, as we arrived after 19h without a reservation and the whole town was packed. I found the place on google thanks to the good reviews and really wanted to dine there and show my Dutch fiancé real French food on our last holiday evening. Every dish was hearty,tasty , beautiful presented and made with high quality ingredients. Special mention to the veal tartare and boudin parmentier. The atmosphere, food and service were 5 star, and for a very affordable price....

Positive Überraschung Nach einer 3 h Tour durch Nancy ergriff uns doch mächtiger Hunger - doch gelang es uns nicht, zügig ein Restaurant zu finden. Entweder waren Hunde (wir haben 2) nicht gestattet, oder das Restaurant war noch geschlossen, oder es sagte uns nicht zu. Eher zufällig kamen wir an der Brasserie Saint-Georges vorbei - die hatte gerade geöffnet. Von außen wirkte sie wie eine durchschnittliche Wirtschaft, an der wir normalerweise vorbei geschritten wären, aber unsere müden Beine entschieden dann doch, hier Halt zu machen... Erster Pluspunkt: Unsere Hunde waren gerne willkommen Zweiter Pluspunkt: Man kann vor der Brasserie, in der Brasserie sowie auch hinter der Brasserie im Garten sitzen und vom Garten machten wir Gebrauch. Dritter Pluspunkt: Zu unserer Überraschung war die Essenauswahl hervorragend und nicht überdimensioniert. Vierter Pluspunkt: Das Essen war wirklich lecker, von der Menge vollkommen ausreichend und dazu preislich akzeptabel. Fünfter Pluspunkt: Wer gerne Wein mag, wird auch hier fündig Sechster Pluspunkt: Der Servcie ist sehr gut und das Persomal super freundlich. Siebter Pluspunkt: Der Sanitärbereich ist klein, aber sauber.

Fazit: Wenn wir noch einmal nach Nancy kommen, werden wir hier gerne wieder einkehren. Die Brasserie Saint-Georges erhält von uns die...
