Burger K — Restaurant in Nice

We arrived in the late evening and their electricity went out right as we walked up. The extremely friendly staff informed us that they couldn’t sell anything, and to come back later IF we wanted. Later we came back and their electricity was up again, but they told us many of their foods weren’t available as some kitchenware broke from the outage, so we ordered a chicken burger and galette with sauces that the cashier recommended. The food was ready very quickly, and we got 2 extra drinks as an apology for the outage, which was entirely not their fault. The food was DELICIOUS, and it costed only 11€! This is absolutely a place that I will revisit, hopefully on a day with a full menu, because who knows how amazing the rest of the menu is! About a 5 minute walk from my hotel, we discovered this little gem. Burger K, we walked in and it was spotlessly clean. Staff were polite and easily understood and communicates with us in English. All food was fresh and made to order. The chicken doner was out of this world, not like what you'd get at home in the UK. The chicken was cooked to perfection and juicy (not greasy), full of flavour. Chips cooked to a crispy outside and Fluffy inside. All food brought to your table with a wide selection of drinks. Under €20 for 2 meal deals which I think is great. It’s always nice to see when someone tries something a bit different – like a burger doner.

However, this burger is both difficult to eat (pieces of meat keep falling out while you’re eating) and you can clearly feel the difference in meat quality between the patty and the doner meat. The doner itself is delicious, while the burger patty might as well not even be there.

Overall impression – nothing special. They’d be better off sticking to a classic doner, and they’d instantly have a higher rating and much better food.
