Circe Restaurant Beaulieu-sur-Mer — Restaurant in Nice

I recently visited the restaurant for Sunday brunch with my family and unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience. The restaurant looked nice and we were greeted by a polite lady at the entrance. We were told that we would be given an outdoor table but we had to wait at another table inside the restaurant. However, after waiting for 45 minutes, we still didn't get the outdoor table that we were promised on arrival, so we left. This was particularly frustrating as we were with our 2-year-old son and it was lunchtime! To make matters worse we never got water for our dog, even though it was offered at the arrival. Also the restaurant staff took the table next to us outdoor for another customer, despite our earlier arrangement. This only added to our disappointment and frustration with the overall experience. It seemed as though the workers were understaffed and there was a general lack of professionalism. The design of the restaurant is really nice and pleasant. Unfortunately, our overall experience was disappointing. At first, a waitress took our order for drinks and food. Then we waited a long time without any updates. Eventually, a different waitress came to our table and told us she was actually responsible for our table, and that because we hadn’t ordered from her, our order didn’t count. So we had to order everything again, which delayed things even more.

When the food finally arrived, entrecôte was a real letdown. It was full of fat and incredibly hard to chew. We couldn’t even finish it because it was so tiring and unpleasant to eat.

A disappointing second visit for dinner after an amazing first visit. After a great meal last year we returned and were highly disappointed. There was no Friday "Folie Divine" "signature" party as stated on the website which we enjoyed last year and was the reason we booked again (we heard other guess lamenting the same). If you advertise it follow through on the event even if you have low bookings. Staff were fantastic, drinks, wine, and raw seafood was fantastic but the entrees were ok at best.
