Poor quality, overpriced, bored staff and no view. I had a “filet de loup” with good taste and nice presentation, but the price is way too high for the size of the filet. My girlfriend had a poor “fishermen soup” for 29€!! This was one of the most expensive courses in the menu. The soup had a bad taste like water with some undefined fish-aroma. There were only 5 small mules inside the soup and 3 of them were empty. The fish inside the soup was ok, but nothing special and poor quality. The whole soup was a Desaster. We asked for water and got a bottle of “homemade” still water which was not in the menu and was charged with 6€! The staff was annoying, e.g. asked for dessert and rolled their eyes after we denied. They asked about the taste of our dishes, my girlfriend said “it’s not my taste if I’m honest” and got no reaction at all.
We’ve payed 77€ for 2 main courses (one soup and one filet de loup), one beer, one glass of wine and a homemade...
Read moreAs the average of five stars conveys, we enjoyed La Corderie quite a lot. We started with fried sardines and the roasted peppers, both of which were fresh and top notch. Our entrees included the the sea bass filet, spinach ravioli, and the whole sea bream. The presentation of the whole sea bream included it being cut, deboned, and filleted tableside. Both fish dishes were possibly the best of our two week stay in France. The desserts included the lemon tart, the pavlova (?), and the pain perdu. All excellent enough on their own but the star of the meal was still the fish. The service had lulls, resulting in the slight deduction, but each person when serving was very friendly and attentive. Even the training of a server in opening and presenting the bottle of wine was clearly noted by the staff which made it more than acceptable as he worked his way through the process. Our table was in the terrace/patio area, which was quite nice and a view...
Read moreVisited here based on a recommendation when staying nearby in Nice. We did the walk from our hotel on Boulevard Hugo. We didn’t rush and because it was so warm that worked, it took us about 2 hours or little more to do the walk but we took our time. The scenery along the way is amazing.
The restaurant is in a lovely sleepy seaside town. It’s so relaxing, no one there is worried about life or work etc but just there to relax, eat great food and have a refreshing glass of wine. It was really busy for lunch, mostly locals eating there but some tourists too. I couldn’t recommend it more highly than 5 star. We loved it.
There is a walk up steps back to main road and you can grab a bus back to nice, worked out nicely. Highly recommend the walk and booking the restaurant in advance and make sure to...
