A few moments later she called me back and accused me of taking back the €50 note!! I ran back to my AirBNB to get money for a donation, returned with 15 minutes before closing, and the woman inside told me she was closed. Despite asking, then pleading to let me just look for a quick minute, she refused. She said I could come back another day. I explained to her that it was my last day in France and I would be 6000 miles away - back in Los Angeles - before then. She said no.
