We ordered the set menu with tajine. The appetiser came quickly and it was good, so we were waiting for the mains. The waiter came and took the appetiser away to bring our mains, although we barely touched it and we paid for it. They didn't speak good English so couldn't tell them to bring that back. The mains were also ok. The lamb meat was well cooked, the sauce ok. But I've been to Morocco so I know it wasn't quite the best. Still for someone who's never tried it the raisin one was good. Then desert, whilst we ordered a set menu with orange salad, they didn't seem to understand that and were asking what desert we want. The dessert was tiny, just a few orange slices with a bit of sugar and cinnamon. Also, rather overpriced, all main were Euro 19, set menu Euro 27, and a tiny 250ml Orangina for Euro 4 - they really should add photos and the size of drinks. Hygiene wasn't that great as the waiters had couscous on their hands... Not sure if they just wanted us out more quickly as it was around their lunch break, but they are the ones who told us we could come in at the start. Overall as the main food was ok I gave a 2 star. We were looking forward to trying this Moroccan Restaurant. We have tried 2 others in Menton. Have to say, it was the worst of the 3. Mainly the service. The waiter was worse that awful. Gave us our menu and immediately wanted us to order. Said give us 5 minutes, came back in 1. Our food was mostly OK. At the end of the meal, went to pay and gave him a credit card and said that he didn't or couldn't take it. Very luckily, I had enough cash, including coins to just barely cover the menu. The restaurant owner is a very kind and sweet person who clearly, and rightfully, takes pride in his work. The food was amazing - we ordered several variants of tagine, all of which were delicious, and the chicken slid right off the bone. Service was great, and the restaurant/atmosphere was very warm and home-y. The owner deserves much more appreciation, he was running the establishment completely single-handedly due to his staff being unwell. We will definitely be...
