We discovered this place by accident - driving along the Boulevard de Garavan - a dazzling drive, scented by Cedar trees looking down to the aquamarine Mediterranean below but reaching it by car is treacherous. If you have to reverse to allow oncoming traffic to pass - the drop down to the sea is a long way. Very narrow road.

But once find your way here - the views are incredable - along the coast to Italy on your left and to Cap Martin on your right.

Inside this very ancient Cemetry on a outcrop overlooking the red tiled rooftops below - the final resting places of familys are more like little houses, forever gazing out to sea.

When we descended to Menton below and sitting in a cafe next to the sea and told someone where we had been - they gave us a look and said 'most people walk...
