La Verrière Nice — Restaurant in Nice

Visited this restaurant twice during a short stay in Nice with family and friends. The food was great and prices were on a par with nearby restaurants. What makes this place so good is the service. Francine and the restaurant Manager were amazing, nothing was too much for them and translated and explained had menu for us. We were celebrating my sisters birthday and ordered some champagne for the table, it was no sooner gone then the Manager brought another on the house ❤️ dessert was fab and our celebrations were continued by a big birthday cake candle in her dessert and a chorus of happy birthday. The food was enjoyable, but the overall experience was ruined by questionable practices. We were given an initial bill with higher prices than those listed on the menu, without any explanation. We were entitled to a 20% discount, but the staff refused to apply it, claiming that the dishes were on “promotion” – information that was never communicated to us before ordering. This is a disappointing and non-transparent approach. Additionally, charging €7 for a Coca-Cola is simply excessive. Ho cenato in questo ristorante perché offriva delle opzioni senza glutine.

Il ristorante si trova lungo la strada principale di Nizza con tutti i negozi e il tram di passaggio, quindi ben collegata e molto trafficata. Entrando si trova un ambiente confortevole, semplice, curato con i classici tavolini alla francese, ovvero a vista e posizionati frontali rispetto alla vetrata. Forse la musica era leggermente alta e quindi risultava fastidiosa per chi era seduto vicino.

Abbiamo chiesto al cameriere le opzioni senza glutine e ci ha elencato, su indicazione della cucina, alcuni piatti da poter scegliere. Abbiamo optato per un piccolo aperitivo iniziale, due calici di vino e due secondi. I secondi erano la tartarre di manzo e la fettina di simmenthal da 300g. Ottima la tartarre con un uovo posizionato al di sopra (e nascosto, come se fosse un gioco) e ottima anche la fettina di simmenthal servita con una salsina (ottima anch'essa) e con dell'insalata. Tutti e due i piatti sono stati accompagnati da una porzione di patatine fritte cadauno (le mie erano fredde e poco croccanti).

È necessario sottolineare la gentilezza del servizio, davvero presente ma non invadente e molto preparato.

Per ciò che ho elencato, a cui si aggiunge dell'acqua, abbiamo pagato 47€ con sconto the fork del 30%.
