Le Shapko — Restaurant in Nice

There are very few times in my life where I will consider writing a bad review for a business. Usually, I never write a review for a place because of their bathrooms or because the food wasn’t perfect or because the drinks weren’t amazing however, I cannot keep my mouth shut. I have been coming to this place for a few years now and have always overlooked the flaws.

Firstly, the neighborhood is filled with thugs and violent people who seem to be very friendly with the bouncer and it seems like the owner whom I had a good deal of respect for is friendly with these people who are terrorizing a very beautiful city.

Over the years I have witnessed people spat on people beat up, last year I saw the bouncer almost kill a person. It breaks my heart to see that a beautiful city has to endure such scum that push away tourism and break the law.

I do not say this lightly, but this place should be shut down permanently and allow something better to open up and remove the owner and bouncer from their duties and ban them for holding such positions permanently.

If you are an American or English tourist, please avoid this place at all costs and I say this for your safety and I say this for your well-being you will not be...

I’ve been visiting this place for years and always enjoyed the live music, but the current staff (two young girls and a curly-haired guy) is horrible. I was out alone that night and asked them to keep my drink behind the counter for a bit because I didn’t want to leave it unattended for safety reasons while I stepped outside to smoke. When I came back, they couldn’t find the drink, so I asked for another one at their expense, since it wasn’t my fault they had lost it.

Instead of handling the situation like proper human beings, they turned it into a huge problem and argued with me all together, even though I explained the situation multiple times in a reasonable way. At some point I just lost it and started raging, because this kind of service is disgusting.

All three of them deserve to be fired immediately, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone as long as these bartenders are still around. I really hope the owner of Shapko sees this review and takes proper action, because uniting against your customers instead of handling things adequately is the worst...

The club was nice, the band that was playing there was great. Unfortunately, we experienced the worst night in our life, because of the person opening the door. He physically abused one of our girl friends by pushing her inside the bar for no obvious reason. A boy, who was outside and we didn't even know , tried to help her and he got punched because of this, which we truly appreciated, since we were completely alone. Please, if you decide to go there besides this comment, or you are just a person walking by, take a picture of the person outside the door of the bar, we just want to make sure that the official complaint we filed was taken under consideration after we left the country and nobody will ever have to experience such a thing ever again! We spoke with the "manager" with the hope that someone will help us, but unfortunately all we heard was guessing what could have happened without him having the intention to understand the situation and at least show humanity.
