I traveled with my friend in the south of France for a week and we chose to eat our last dinner at the restaurant "Nespo" in Nice. Without a doubt it was an excellent choice! We enjoyed the whole experience very much, starting with the quick sitting (even though we were 15 minutes late) by the hospitable hostess, the kind service of the amazing wait staff. I want to mention an incident that happened to us, my friend ordered a mojito cocktail and the glass just broke in his hand, luckily he was not injured but the drink was spilled on the table. Within a few seconds the waiters arrived, changed the tablecloth and cleaned the table while sincerely apologizing and the incident passed as if it had never happened. We ordered starters which included one artichoke salad and the other oysters in garlic sauce. It was delicious! For main courses I ordered pasta with truffles And my friend ordered roast veal with mashed potatoes. We enjoyed every bite! And the desserts.. Wow! Just perfect! The photos will speak for themselves. When the bill came there were no "surprises" and the price was completely fair. We enjoyed the whole eating experience at this restaurant so much and I definitely recommend it to everyone who visits Nice to drop by for a meal at "Nespo". Looking forward to the next time I return to Nice especially for this restaurant. Thank you for great service and food. ❤️🍹

Food was great, just on the small side. The biggest issue was that I told the waiter right from when he sat me down that I was Coeliac. All the fine dining establishments I’ve eaten at in France have understood and take the seriousness straight up. The appetizer before the meal came out. I took one bite and asked whether it had gluten in it. They confirmed it did. They weren’t quick to do anything about it. Luckily I had some charcoal tabs and some paracetamol with me. I understand the waiter may have misunderstood, but it was the attitude of the manager that really stunk. I said they should at least comp me something, maybe the dessert. The only thing they did was a coffee. He made a really big song and dance about it. He wouldn’t even let me finish as I was speaking, I had to ask him “would you please let me finish what I am saying?”. I explained that a restaurant as high as of a calibre as theirs should very much understand ‘coeliac’ and I’ve had better experiences with it at more casual establishments around France. Hard to believe they could get it wrong and barely care to do anything about it. Needless to say, I am feeling very poor today. If the manager’s attitude wasn’t so poor, my review today would have been a lot better.

WACK AF. SMALL SPACE, NO VIEWS, PUSHY WAITERS. FOOD& DRINKS: we ordered the spicy peppered steak, coconut shrimp, and fried calamari. I had virgin mojito and my date had absolute with OJ. For 18€, you literally get a sip on absolute. They charge €6.50 for tap water. The food was bland, very tasteless. The spicy steak was not spicy, the friend calamari was the absolute worse. SERVICE: At the restaurant, they kept coming to us every minute asking us if we are ready to order, once I wasn’t even finished one of the plates, mid convo they came and tried to take the plate. I had to tell them no, I’m not done. They’re really annoying honestly. ATMOSPHERE: as I’ve said, it’s small and drab. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO SEE THERE. They do however have lights up for you to take pics at the NESPO sign. BILL: I don’t care about money when it comes to my happiness, but when I made the reservation I paid €100 which I was told would be added to my bill. It wasn’t. I had to remind them. OVERALL: you go for the experience but this is not the kind of experience one should have when traveling. There were NO GOOD PARTS. There are PLENTY SEASIDE restaurants on the promenade. I only went for the experience and I cannot recommend.

A Perfect Blend of Style, Flavor, and Atmosphere

Nespo is the kind of place that effortlessly combines elegance with warmth — and completely lives up to its reputation. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the chic yet inviting ambiance. The interior design is beautiful without being pretentious, with earthy tones, soft lighting, and a lush outdoor terrace that feels like a hidden oasis in the heart of Nice.

The menu is Mediterranean at its core, but with creative twists that never feel forced. Every dish we tried was both beautifully presented and thoughtfully balanced. The truffle rigatoni was indulgent without being heavy, and the seafood was incredibly fresh — cooked to perfection. For dessert, the “Cookie Minute” was a standout — warm, gooey, and wildly addictive.

What really elevated the experience was the service. The staff were not only professional, but genuinely kind — happy to make recommendations, adjust to our needs, and ensure everything was perfect without hovering. It felt like they truly cared that we were enjoying ourselves.

Nespo isn’t just a great meal — it’s an experience. Whether you’re visiting Nice for the first time or you're a local looking for something special, this is one spot that absolutely delivers. We’ll...
