Fantastic spot! I came as it was Micheline guide recommended and boy did it not disappoint. Would agree with other reviews that reservations are needed but I called on the off season night of and was able to secure a table for 2, would likely require earlier call during summer seasons. The menu changes from day to day based on the available ingredients and the waitress, who was extremely kind and also spoke fluent English, explained through each dish on the daily menu. Once you choose your entree and/or starter you can simply ask for their best paired wine and they will bring one for you to sample. I got the veal stuffed onions with fresh grilled shrimp, paired with a tart and crisp red wine and it was truly delicious!! For dessert i had the fontainebleau which was sprinkled with meringue pieces and local grapefruit. light, fluffy but also with hints of Greek yogurt flavor, strongly juxtaposed with the sour grapefruit and the crunchy meringue pieces, it was decadent! Despite the a la carte style I didn't break too big at the bank for this delicious and unique meal fully sourced from local farms and fields. highly highly recommend!

The experience was good, though I had hoped for great based on the reviews. The menu is creative and built around local ingredients, with several interesting options. Unfortunately, the starters fell short – the croquette was undercooked and the courgette farcie lacked flavor. The mains were better: the beef was excellent, though the panzanella with the tuna tasted a bit tired. Service could use improvement; it was hard to get the waiter’s attention, and some basics (like a spoon for the courgette) were missing. While the wines were lovely, the overall value didn’t match the price – 35–37 euros for rustic mains that missed the mark in execution and taste made the meal feel overpriced.

Our recent visit to Le Canon left much to be desired, primarily due to the disrespectful attitude of one particular waiter. Despite arriving with the intention of inquiring about the possibility of a reservation for later, we were met with a dismissive and impolite demeanor from the waiter with the funny mustache.

While we understand that the restaurant may have been fully booked, the manner in which we were spoken to made us feel unwelcome and unvalued as customers. Instead of a simple explanation, the waiter's tone and attitude implied that we were an inconvenience and that we should leave immediately.

It's disappointing to encounter such unprofessional behavior, especially in an establishment that prides itself on providing quality service. As patrons who were genuinely interested in experiencing what Le Canon had to offer, we left feeling disheartened and disrespected.

We hope that management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the need for better training in customer service. Until then, we cannot recommend Le Canon to others based on our...

If you want a surly French waiter, look no further than Le Canon. The man with the fine moustache was extremely dismissive of us, positively snarling when we asked for ice, which he refused on the grounds that only the rotten tourists ask for it. He felt comfortable ridiculing our food choices and then suggesting we added a zero to the end of the bill price. He made faces of horror at any morsels of food left on the plate and his dramatic double take movements were making us feel very uncomfortable. The other chap was ok but when we asked for the wine list we were told it was in his head. No prices were offered for the wine so we wisely asked. The food is pre-prepared as no pork chop or lamb mince in aubergine can be ready within 5 minutes. I’m sure they’re very proud of their local produce but as a regular foodie, it left us less than impressed. I suggest you try something round the corner instead. The three women who arrived just after us made the wise choice to do just that...
