Stumbled on this place - not reserached tho i now see they rate well on T.A! As a lone diner was made to feel welcome & seated on the small outdoor terrace... they have a good choice of menu; i selected baigan brinjal starter (aubergine) which was delicious.for my main i had beef koftka..a plate w/2 large meatballs gently spiced & stuffed with prunes which were very succulent, it had a tomatoey sauce, a lentil dahl & some spinach too, the accompanying rice was dotted with flaked almonds & topped w/ caramelised shredded carrot - the latter a revelation, it really was a great match for the koftkas. Deserts were traditional..i had the Firni (a chilled cardamon rice pudding) which was light, gentle & perfect after the filling meal. Their Nouristani tea was great too( sweetly flavoured w saffron, cinamon & cardamom).my meal tasted like great home cooked food created with care & tradition.i watched them do a brisk trade that night & saw all diners receive a lovely warm welcome. From memory ..wine+3courses + tea from the a la carte was €36..it felt well spent & i went away sated & like i'd been to a favourite family member's table! Would love to go as a group to try the other dishes, everything that went past looked great & all other diners cleared...
Read moreThis was my wife's and my first time eating Afghan food and we absolutely loved it. The food was incredible--we had the tchapli, salade afghane, and poulet massala. The tchapli was my favorite, I probably could have had a second. We ended up loving the food so much we ordered the pakora later and had the firni for dessert. All of the flavors just hit the right spots for me--fresh, savory, lots of spices and aromas. I also had the yogurt drink that I can't remember the name of but it was not what I was expecting, in a good way--a bit sour, almost pickled but fresh and creamy. We had wine, the Pamir cocktail, and kir. I would have tried everything on the menu if I could have.
The owner and staff were very kind and accomodating, as well. We sat outside but moved in when it got too cold--the inside of the restaurant had great atmosphere, very cozy. I'll be checking to see if there is an Afghan restaurant...
Read moreBad quality! It's too expensive for what you get! And bad service! Absolutely NOT recommended!!! Such an ugly style of afghanistan! your comment is so childish. I was there with my wife and my baby. I just gave my opinion and you are so attacking me. I wanted to pass on my own experience and I am very sorry that you cannot bear it. your response shows enough who is rude. I didn't force anyone and it's not my first time in a restaurant. I just told the lady that reggae music doesn't suit the style of the restaurant. maybe you should take an example from the other (persian and afghan) restaurants in your city!!! I'll leave the rest to people to experience for themselves. what we ordered was not what we got! it's misleading! no wonder your restaurant was empty compared to the other restaurants on the same...
