STORY: We have been at A’Trego by “accident” at this early stage of our trip to Monaco Yacht Show 2025, because of a personal emergency. Asking the manager Micol, if he would speak some little English (as my Francaise is a bit rusted & not appropriate for emergency situations, after 40years) he answered in perfect & brillant English✅ even better, after I left my Italian name and phone number he continued also in mothertounge Italian to us✅ 2nd WOW. He then helped us, no question asked, with all we needed at that first moment and let us relax for a while.🙏🏻 Then, we were astonished about the beautiful place we stepped into ✅ and needed in any case and “against all odds” to stay there for dinner. Imagine you and ur partner completely exhausted, but now feeling covered and fully taken care of like royals in your “own family home”. ✅ Exactly the feeling of “FAMIGLIA far from home” was, what we were blessed to experience by Micol and his whole team. An endless kindness and politeness we never experienced in France nor around Europe for a long while.✅ I just remember something happening to us in Kosovo, 4years ago and a great friendship was build out of that.👋
RESTAURANT PLACE: This said, I can only point out the most gorgeous wave splashing view sofas✅ we have ever eaten on🌊 The delicious pinsa with truffe✅, great desserts of any kind✅, starting from Strawberry Millefoglie✅ to lemontarte✅ & drinks and a perfect Italian cafe macchiato caldo. ✅ Even the bill at the end was much more then a positive surprise… ✅ Micol made us feel immediately (from the very beginning): COMING AS STRANGERS and being treated as BEST FRIENDS ever since. ACUTALLY we did not want to LEAVE at all, so we will see them again today - trying out their marvelous outside/in bar at A’Trego, Cap d’Ail - right on the border to Monaco.🫶

When we tried to book the restaurant for 20:30 they said they were totally booked and they could have space for us only at 21:30.
When we arrived the restaurant was half full with plenty tables vacant. I dont think many people left by that time - its a common issue in Monaco and the area - you can feel that the staff is not happy with their work and the guests are always paying for this. Management is the worst possible. But anyway, let’s continue if you are reading this.⚡️
I ordered rolls with shrimps for 24 euro - and they were just the usual major city takeaway japanese rolls with some fancy sauce. Not impressed at all. Of course no one asked and cared.
The last peak of the evening was that when we ordered a bottle of wine - they had two rosé ones with same names - we picked the least expensive option and they noted our choice. Then we drank the bottle and when the bill came realised they’ve sold us the most expensive one - no way we could know the difference in bottles or taste, surely. The hostess went to ask the boss to make a proper reduction in the bill because of their fault, but he refused and we paid the whole amount for the wine we didn’t order.
The place is designed by legendary P.Starck but unfortunately only his name on the menu and the interior design left that makes this place unique. Im sadly disappointed that they allow guests to experience...
Read moreI had dinner there tonight. I'm staying at the Marriott downtown the street. I came in an hour before closing and was told that the kitchen was closing soon so I ordered right away. I ordered a caesar salad w chicken and a steak. I asked that the steak come second after the caesar and that it be medium. I asked for no tomatoes in my caesar specifically.
Well twenty minutes later, you guessed it, all my food came at the same time. The caesar if course had tomatoes and the steak was cooked rare and still cut in pieces. So nothing was correct. In the next 45 minutes not one server came by to check on me, see how my food was or anything. I had to even find someone to get me the bill and then pay it. Oh, I was sitting in the middle of the main dining area.
It's not hard to do things right or have some service standards. And sure everyone has a bad night sometime. I have not had this disappointing and inept service at a long time. Nothing was correct...
