SAJ by Milla — Restaurant in Nice

A friend suggested me to come to SAJ to eat, and i ordered the lunch menu which consisted of a lentil soup, Greek Salad and Lebanese flat bread with zaatar. Lentil soup was very well seasoned with a touch of acidity and freshness of the ginger, greek salad was very fresh and light and the zaatar flat bread had such a unique taste from the spices and herbs which i absolutely love. I went on to order the Halloumi Flat bread to try more of their dishes and yet again they absolutely delivered it, it shows you with simple ingredients, fresh products and strong fundamental of cooking technique you can make simple food taste absolutely delicious. For dessert i ordered the Lavender Chocolate ice cream which is Vegan, never tasted vegan ice cream this rich and flavorful, by far the best ice cream I’ve tasted so far in Nice, what a way to end the meal. The owner and staffs are really kind and friendly, which gives me a sense of belonging in the restaurant and that I’m welcomed...

First and foremost - I am a meat eater. Saj offers not only a Vegetarian menu but a Vegan one also. Do not let that put you off.

It’s a small 22-25 seater boutique restaurant with 3 staff & a hard working owner behind the food.

Hummus & Baba Ganoush served on homemade flatbread as a starter followed by a selection of the most delicious & freshly prepared flat bread wraps filled with Spinach, goats cheese & spices. Dessert was 3 “cheesecakes” - Fresh fruit & yoghurt and muesli was also available. We left very satisfied without that horrible bloated pre-night out heaviness that often occurs.

Wine & beer are your alcoholic options & soft drinks for the kids.

Food was tasty, and owner was friendly. However, we made a reservation at 20.30 and nobody warned us that they where closing the kitchen shortly after. The staff told us they were closing while we still had food and half a bottle of wine. If we knew this beforehand we wouldn't have ordered a whole bottle of wine. Please don't accept reservations this close to your closing time! A guest is never too slow, we payed good money and even gave a tip. We regret this now. We felt pressured into leaving and drinking our wine as if it was a shot glass.
